One thing to note is that not all the first round picks the Spurs gave up are equal or even really first round picks. Like the Charlotte pick is likely going to be deferred to 2 second round picks next draft class with how the Hornets are doing and with the Spurs current timeline their own pick in 2027 is likely not going to be as valuable. They still get to hold on to their Hawks picks and have a chance in the lottery and with how deep this draft class is anywhere from 1-10 is a win. They got to keep all of this and retain their young core. I don’t even think the most diehard Spurs fan thought the trade would end up this favorable for San Antonio.

To have a 25 pt scorer beside wemby is a whole lot different than just having wemby. There's not much pressure now for Vassell and KJ. They can just play along and let the game come to them. They can average 12 pts a game between them. After all, vassell is inconsistent and has proven to be a nowhere near a 2nd option. So the 3rd scoring load will come from anyone not named wemby and fox.

@RMASUPERFLY the future is Castle's to take. He has the runway that no one in the team will have except of course to Wemby. He will be the point of attack defender in the future. Eventually he will be the teams SG or SF and the 3rd scoring option. Vassell, KJ and Sochan despite the OGs of this team have to face the reality - they were drafted to be role players.

No. This is a great move. The NBA has changed. The specialists are being replaced by rounded talent, speed, and length. A leveling is taking place. You still need the stars, but look at Houston and the Grizzles.

I’m just happy we were able to give up Zach Collins and only gave 1 of our own 1st rd picks. So a lineup of Fox Vassell Castle Jeremy Wemby And then we have cp3 Champagne Keldon Barnes bassey off the bench. That’s looking pretty good right there. That bench has 4 players that have been starters for us and contributed greatly for us. We was good before this trade now we looking like we could really push for the 2nd round and potential finals next year.

Snubbed last season from all star too understand this season with Kings being bad and his hand(s) screwing up his numbers but he’s 100% an all nba third team guy. Possibly beyond if the Spurs fill out the roster correctly around he and the alien. Yeah I'm going to be honest the league is cooked. They kept all the pieces necessary to get a Booker level guy in the summer. Wemby and Fox will both get better playing together. They have Sochan for defense in addition to Wemby. The only thing stopping this team moving forward is injuries and experience.

They have picks all the way from 2030. 😆 They made the deal of the century getting Alexander and picks and removing the most overrated player.
