Good morning and thank you for posting. Question for someone please? Why, before inspection, do the senior and Officer in charge, cross each other on the parade ground? I find all these traditions fascinating, and thanks again. Regards from Cornwall 👍👍👍👍

The Officer is showing the troops he is sober. The tradition which dates back to the time of Queen Victoria is called 'Pacing the Minutes'.
