My O gauge coarse scale Bassett-Lowke Mogul has indications it is from the first production run. Probably 1926 but also possibly 1927. I did a lot of work on it to get it running well and I repainted it.
In this video I am using a modern Lionel tender I modified and repainted so I can pull some of K-Line and Lionel railcars. I repainted the Canadian National Caboose and Esquimalt and Nanaimo Railway boxcar as well. (The E & N was a subsidiary of Canadian Pacific that used to run here on Vancouver Island.)
The Bowman 265 is now masquerading as a 16 mm to the foot (SM32) locomotive because it is over-scale. It is closer to 1 gauge than 0. In fact, this engine has a narrow gauge look about it. Happily, 16 mm large scale equipment which is meant to model narrow gauge industrial trains run on the same gauge track as O gauge standard gauge trains. My Bowman is circa 1928.
Because I also run Mamod and Accucraft in 32 mm gauge my small garden planter railway provides me with plenty of live steam options.
Happy railroading!
