Steve Cropper's iconic tone through one of the originals is a sound I'll never get out of my head! I think the very unusual for a tweed combination of fixed bias in a low wattage amp makes it such a unique little amp. The Fender Tweed Harvard is a very rare and hard amp to find or afford. I luckily have a 57/58. They originally came with only one 10 inch speaker. The tweed Fender Super was a 2/10 amp. I wonder if this was a Super clone and not a Harvard Clone? I have both amps and both are killer. Anyway this is a great demo and Johan always does a great job having fun with these classic beauties! Keep Rocking Johan and thanks for the great videos! Tony

Anthony Richard, I was excited to hear that you have an original Harvard & a Tweed Super. Wow! I’m going to buy one or the other clone (Victoria Ivy League or Victoria 35210). Super cool vibe and feel on this tune Johan. Great amp as well. I know you’re a big fan of amp distortion, but a lot of people including myself who collect distortion pedals , would love to hear how this amp , and the other ones you have tested, react with other distortion pedals. Not just overdrives. Get some awesome layered tones. You’re a big fan of the Plexi sound, you owe it to yourself to pick up a Bogner Red, or Blue pedal. It...will...blow...your...mind. Makes most amps sound like toys. Probably one of the best pedals on the market for clean vintage single channel amps. Pedal has two channels, rhythm, lead. Will turn an amp like that into a three channel monster. Cheers.

I'm not surprised this sounds so good. I gigged with a Vic 20112 for a while and it was brilliant. Great for broken cleans and with an Archer in front it was perfect for 90s punk tones. Johan, awesome tune! Bravo! For home recording, more mics for specific applications (ex. 421 for bass amp, AKG for guitar, SM57s, U87, etc.) and use plugins vs a good outboard compressor (LA-2A) and class A mic pre but only one or two mics for all applications? Which would you choose? Thanks!
@JohanSegeborn7 жыл бұрын
+MrAtsguitar Thanks! Glad to hear that! I prefer to use as few mics as possible. I usually only add a second room mic on one of the guitars in the mix. The 421 is great for any application but I use it for bass. U47 sounds great too but 421 is good enough and simpler and more robust. For electric guitar I like Unidyne 548 or 421 if it's extremely loud. Otherwise I use 414 for dark amps and M160 for bright amps. I udually use the Preamps in the soundinyerface (Studio Konnekt 48 or Apogee Duet) and no other outboard. For Electric guitars and drums I like a fast preamp like API 512 and tube Preamps for vocals. When it comes to plugin vs outboard compression, I'm gonna do a couple of clips about that soon. I'm actually not what the difference is. I'm gonna investigate analog tracking vs digital tracking and analog vs digital mixing and summing too. Cheers Johan

Incredibly good tone. Nothing unpleasant here at all. Juicy and smooth. Love that you use the Epi LP Special II along with a vintage strat to get the balance. And how you manage to get that good of a drum sound with a single mic I don't know, it's magic. I'm curious if this amp still sounds as good with a boost or OD pedal in front to give it a lead lift?

I absolutely love when you do full band videos! You just have an awesome sense of rhythm! I would like to get some opinions on this: Should I get an AC15 with Alnico Blues, a Bassbreaker 45 combo, or a DSL100H? I mostly want to play Zeppelin, Cream, Sabbath, and that style of music; and I can get these for about the same price here in Mexico. I already heard Johan's videos on all these and still can't make my mind up. I want all three!
@JohanSegeborn7 жыл бұрын
+Roberto Cabrera You make my day my friend!
@JohanSegeborn7 жыл бұрын
+Roberto Cabrera Hi, I would probably get The DSL100H to get that tone. All three would do a good job. I think the most important thing for that tone is the Celestion Greenback speakers with the Pulsonic cones.
@RobCabreraCh7 жыл бұрын
Johan Segeborn Great, I was kind of leaning into the DSL a bit more. As for speakers go, getting a 4x12 with greenbacks, like a 1960AX, is in my plan regardless of what amp I end up getting. But that will have to wait a few months, while I gather the money
