I've always thought it was Ariana because it sounds so light but now I actually realize it's Victoria! And yeah, it was a G#5 but it was really sharp and tight that makes the note irrevelant. Thanks for sharing this with us :)

First of all I would like to apologize for the shitty video. Second of all, before commenting saying you disagree, please read these few "doubts" some people may have, so I can avoid replying to the comments one by one: (read more) 1. “I think Ariana hit it!” The G#5 done in the sounds like someone that’s literally on the verge of cracking. Meanwhile Ariana has the ability to mix up to G#5s without sounding like she’s about to crack. During the time frame of this note, live, Victoria looks like she’s straining kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJbClHqlbsajirMm20s, showing that she’s doing something out of her comfort zone, such as a high belt. 2. “It’s an F#5, not a G#5” I also thought at first that it’s an F#5, but I rechecked and it’s definitely a G#5. The song was played on an episode with a different recording, and the she hit an F#5 instead kzbin.info/www/bejne/gqekaGqZZs2jbM0m33s . You can definitely hear the difference when played side by side. The studio version’s higher than the episode version. 3. “It’s pitched up/edited!” Although Victoria has been notorious for being a studio singer,she’ is able to hit continuous F#5s throughout the song with ease, which makes me think that a G#5 peak is feasible. Not to mention, she has done the note live, though usually overshadowed by Ariana’s voice (lol). 4. "It's falsetto" To me, it sounds mixed and she definitely would put less effort into the note if it were falsetto.

Katherine Ujhazy Sis.. that doesn’t sound like Ariana at all. Plus she would’ve hit the note much easier (her upper belts come easier than Victoria’s)

vocal vids it was absolutely Ariana - what you’re perceiving as strain is Ariana’s natural tone, and she does have a high larynx when she belts in head voice. if you had vocal knowledge and training you’d be able to discern easily between Victoria and Ariana, even in the background like this.

Kitsun First of all, you can’t belt in head voice. Secondly, it was Victoria as you can hear the note was about to get screamed out and it was about to crack. Also, that G#5 had a lot of distortion to it and Ariana doesn’t use distortion.
