Heard about Cin, got caught up on youtube and I'm watching again. I've heard others say the same thing. One thing I would note is I'm not sure what Ciara is into, besides boys. I get that she's a young girl who is a trust fund baby, so sitting around and deciding which boy she likes is something she could do all day, while everyone else has to work for a living, but I'm just curious if I missed something. I know that Claire is into her music. I know that Theo is into computers. I know that Tripp had a brief interest in being a doctor before Joey went to prison, but what is Ciara into? Since Ciara came back to Salem, she's simply bounced from one guy to the next. First Theo, then Tripp and now Ben! I'm all for Ciara getting as many hot guys as she can, but I would hope for strong, female characters in dramas to have something of their own going on besides hot guys and I don't see Ciara having something of her own. I know she tried out for that Bella magazine thing, but she was never into that. She only did it to get back at Claire, but I'd really like to know what Ciara's passion is. What does she want to do with her life besides make babies with Ben? Does she have any life goals that are independent of anything else? I would also ask the same of Ben. I know he has a lot of baggage right now, but is there something that he would like to do with his life, if he were given a chance. These characters don't feel real otherwise, if they don't have any passions or goals outside their love lives.

Marlon Wallace: I understand what you're saying but for a young lady that has experienced the amount of trauma that Ciara has; being raped by someone that you trusted and never fully recovering from that traumatic event could explain her being a bit rudderless. Knowing what you want out of life and being passionate about it is a blessing a lot of people in real life don't have. Her value as a human is not diminished by her more unorthodox path.

I think Ciara being "rudderless" is something that you're assuming because I don't think her being "rudderless" has been established on screen since Victoria took over the role, unless I missed something. Her being rudderless as a result of the rape is something that I don't think I've ever heard her say, especially since Ciara has come back. If I did, when and who did Ciara say that to? If that's the reason, then that's fine and interesting and I wish the show would explore that more. My problem is that I don't think she has said that and those aspects of her life have been overlooked due to Ron's preoccupation with other stories and characters and his rush to force this romance between Ben and Ciara. He's simply made her be all about him while disregarding all other aspects of her life, thus far. Hopefully, we'll see her as a character look at other aspects of her life, other than her love life and being Ben's defender.

Marlon Wallace: Thanks for responding. I do get what it is that you are saying. I just think that their are a lot of young people who don't have the answer to the question of ; "What are you passionate about and what is it that you want out of life." Bravo to those that know their path early but my experience has been that plenty of young, idealistic people, men and women, put tremendous emphasis on searching for and finding Love and through this search find themselves and their purpose. I agree with you. I also, would like to see these other dimensions of Ben and Ciara's character development further explored.
