Miss this ground so much. Footy has never been the same since for me when the Pies left near on 20 years ago. So many fond memories as a kid. Love the refurbishment albeit minus the missing R.T.Rush stand. Thank you Drone Victoria.

Very true mate... I went to Victoria Park today with my family and even as a non supporter i always respected the suburban grounds and even of opposition teams..As a young kid i was always in awe of the mighty grandstands that surrounded the hallowed turf... So much history and memories there... Yes football has never been the same since the days of real suburban football ...Even listening to the radio and waiting to hear the scores from around the grounds was great and always hearing some caller say "we've got the close one " ! Just awesome days !

Logan Wingrave Well done Logan. Pal, you missed out on some wonderful times there. The parochialism and ‘one-eyedness’ has never been surpassed for me, including at the G. Best ground in the world to be at. Hope you enjoyed it. Go Pies!!◻️◼️

MrOzgooner Thank you. Totally agree with your sentiments. Loved hearing the other scores from round the grounds too. 👍🏻◼️◻️

Hard to believe the biggest club in Australia had that little dungheep as its homeground.. Though from about 1980 onwards the big clubs never played there.. Collingwood would always play Carlton and Essendon at VFL Park and get 75,000+ each time for home and away crowds..
@EddieMunstar874 жыл бұрын
Mark DP Firstly, it’s not a dungheep it’s the ‘spiritual’ home of the collingwood football club. The place where footy folklore was created and modern day gladiators did battle against other tribes. Secondly, the capacity was only about 30k give or take. Collingwood would play at the G for bigger games.
