It bothers me that they never even hugged. Anyways, could we please let these to beautiful humans have their own film? I'd like to sign the petition for that because there is something so very special about their chemistry.

But he never stopped loving his 1st true wife, even though she did have a relationship with lord Byron & gave Byron a daughter, miss 'mathmatics, he didn't stop loving his wife hence he said to Victoria after she said "she couldn't forgive such a betrayal", "you're very young" but still he knew their big age difference & that the nation would never allow her to marry such a man who under normal circumstancies would end up in Newgate prison. So after Victoria married Albert she called lord M a 'father figure, though he might have meant far more to her than she really let on!

nah, it was better that they never hugged. made the tension even better. doesn't matter what the show/movie is, unrequited love is always waaaaaaaaaay more interesting than requited love, once two people get together, all interest in the show/movie fizzles out

It's called protocol plus Lord M knows not to cross a line. She is after all the Queen.

I watched dozens of TV shows and I saw many many amazing characters die... But Lord M‘s death was surely one of the most painful ones for me. He was an extraordinary melancholic wise man, a kind soul, a true friend, one who always put his interests aside for Victoria’s sake. Moreover, Rufus Sewell is an incredibly talented actor, and his portrayal of Lord M was extremely deep, moving and multifaceted. He truly is a master of his craft, and an insanely handsome man... I couldn’t have hoped for a better Lord Melbourne. We will miss you ❤️

What a sad life Lord M had . Near tears when Victoria took him the singing bird.

Albert’s great and all, but I really wanted them to kiss when they said their farewells, even though it’s not remotely historically accurate lol
@aliali-ce3yf9 ай бұрын
they would never kiss. he was still in love with his wife (despite her cheating on him, but M's judgement didn't seem great), and she was married..........it would've been trashy if they kissed

the real lord M After leaving parliament in August 1841, Melbourne retreated from public life and suffered a stroke 14 months after his exit from politics. Weakened, he led a reclusive existence in the following years although continued to exchange letters with Victoria. He passed away on 24th November 1848, nine years after the queen had begun her reign. Born: March 15, 1779, London, United Kingdom died November 24, 1848, Brocket Hall, Hatfield, United Kingdom

@@HiDesert004 Also Dash didn't die as Victoria got bk from her last visit to Brocket hall knowing he was dying, that was poetic licence. Dash had died long before lord M. Not at the same time, that's why ppl find it so sad but in reality all was different than shown in the drama! Still a very entertaining drama, though they used much poetic licence. That's what drama is about, make you emotional when in reality you wouldn't have been!

The dialog between Albert and Victoria after she found Dash was beautifully done. It told her feelings about how she loved Lord M and Dash and would miss them both

@@eleesiasportraits6114 I think that Lord M dying just as Victoria got bk home from her last ever visit to Brocket Hall was meant to coincide with the death of Dash, it didn't really happen in that way but they wanted to portray lord Ms death to Victoria by showing Dash's death so we see the sadness of her loss for both.

@@suestuckey2976 Not really...He has died at 69 exactly., not 61 - so he was born at 1779...Victoria was born at 1819 ... Still, I agree - actor who is playing Lord Melborune is realy charsimatic and did great job, and secondly this is tv show , not documentation - so they have made it realy nice relationship between those two

The way I see it is, a Queen is two people the woman Victoria has chosen Lord Melbourne but the queen she became needed Albert. The same way Elizabeth II as queen needed Phillip but the woman she was chose a different man.

Rufus Sewell is great actor. He should understand that he’s better at being a good guy than bad guy. The bad guy role doesn’t suit him and he waste his talents when he does them. He has an air of someone important but on the good side not the bad side
@zebritah13 жыл бұрын
I don't think that's exactly his fault. He has said many times that most of the roles that came to him were villains due to his strong and sharp features.
