this dog was REAL smart! Literally all it took was for ANYONE to tell him ANYTHING and explain things in a way he understood. He picked up every command so quickly with only one or two attempts!!! What a good boy

Hence why she asked Victoria for help. She knew she wasn't doing what training was needed. So let's focus on the fact that this owner knew she needed help and she asked for it. And worked towards change.

But be careful with toys. Please don't just use toys to achieve goals or get attention. The dog can become addicted to them and get the wrong expectations. This will stress him out even more and you will end up with a permanently stressed dog waiting for his toy. The first thing dog owners need to learn is to read their dog and understand how a dog works. As long as he does not understand what he is doing and why and why the dog is doing what he is doing, all training is pointless. In most cases, it is not the dog's fault, but the owner's.
@danielledewitt13 ай бұрын
So you'd rather dogs not have toys?
@JoannaVancouver3 ай бұрын
I'm trying to understand not using toys with dogs because they can get addicted to them? I have never heard that before. The only time you should be careful with toys is when the toy could be a choking or health hazard. Sometimes an unbalanced dog can become obsessive over a toy, but this very rare and not a reason to limit toy use with all dogs. Could you provide an example of a wrong expectation a dog can develop from toy use?

@@JoannaVancouver @danielledewitt1 I didn't say that you shouldn't use toys. Of course I use toys myself. But you shouldn't ONLY use toys to shape behavior.

This is the most ridiculous suggestion I’ve ever heard just from a common sense perspective. I hate the comments in these videos because everyone who’s ever owned a dog thinks they’re an expert on the topic and posts either judgemental or ridiculous advice for everyone else. It’s actually embarrassing
