I think once every 2 years like the Ashes would be good. - Protect the best players from injury - Builds more suspense than if it was annual - Every year people would get tired of it. - Gives younger players a chance to get to the skill level to play in the game - Cheaper for the AFL to put the game on

High Ex: so like the NBA 3pt Contest, there are 6 contestants, there are 5 stations across the arc (each station has 5 balls, 4 normal stations and 1 station with *money* balls) {60secs} My idea was we do something similar, there are 5 teams/contestants, there are 3 stations across the 50m arc (each station has 4 balls, 2 normal stations [at where the number 50 is painted] and 1 station in the middle (60m) with *money* balls [make it 9pts a goal and 3pts a behind] {120 secs} Each team has 2 players and they alternate taking kicks: Eg - RICH (B. Houli & J. Short) CARL (C. Curnow & r.warnock) GEEL (Z. Touhy & T. Hawkins)

The only similarity with State of Origin was having Victoria represented. This was an exhibition game, not a win at all costs. There were few hard tackles and bumps. State of Origin is taken as seriously as any H&A game, this was farcical in that respect. State of Origin must be state vs state to be successful again, none of this friendly exhibition stuff..

After he came back on, and stayed on for the rest of the game Victoria outscored the All-Stars 84-8. Danger also worked defensively. Dusty would just jog on the spot when the All-Stars had possession. That running goal from Isaac Smith in the highlights is a case in point. His direct opponent in that centre bounce was one D.Martin. Notice how Dusty wasn't sighted as Smith was setting sail for home. The ultimate one-way runner.

That's pretty good logic if you ask me. None of what we saw in this match was anything like what you see in a regular AFL match. Maybe the Big V didn't fluke kicking accurately early on. But there were some pretty deliberate misses by the All Stars when they were all over Victoria just to keep them in it. You're spot on about the way that the All Stars were probably told to just stop trying in the last quarter and let the Big V run all over them. And that kind of shootout style football, well it last got played in a regular AFL match the day that North Melbourne gave up a 12 goal lead to lose to Essendon in 2001.

What a turnaround by the Big V! Trailing hopelessly for much of the match and they have won by almost 8 goals.
