Victorian Tile Background Technique

In today's video, I show you a fun technique that looks a little bit like Victorian tile! This shabby chic background is perfect for an antique floral focal image, and if you omit the flowers on the background, it makes a great backdrop for a masculine card.

Gina, I didn't think this would work at the beginning, but I'm so glad to be wrong! It's gorgeous, and on my list of things to try. I'm not sure if I have those colours, and need to go through my ink pads anyway - loss of mojo through ill-health plus lockdown has meant that quite a lot of my inks have dried out, but I know that I have a pewter-grey colour which is newly bought, and I think that would work well with the scored pattern. Thank you for another new idea that won't exhaust my already depleted energy levels; please keep bringing your five-minute tutorials to us, I don't think you know how much they are valued and enjoyed.

I sure have enjoyed these 5-minute videos. I always forget about the turquoise/blueish ink behind the brown or black to make the "wood" background so this is a great reminder to give the background more texture.

Very cool tech. BUT I would have left it with the blue on the background, I think the brown just washed all the goodness away. But that's just me because I love the color blue
