MY HUSBAND'S BLINI RECIPE:
4 eggs
1 liter of milk
400-500g of flour
3 tablespoons of oil (any)
a bit of salt and sugar
Mix together in a bowl using a mixer. The dough should be quite liquid and without lumps. Add oil to the hot pan. Put some dough in it, and quickly spread it evenly around the pan. When the dough gets solid at the bottom, carefully detach it from the pan with the spatula and quickly flip it with one confident move. When another side is ready - flip it to the plate. You can grease hot blini with a bit of butter while you are making them so they will be more soft and buttery :) You can serve them with literally anything - sour cream, condensed milk, jam, chocolate syrup, fruits and berries, maple syrup, peanut butter, whipped cream, Nutella, cream cheese and salmon... options are endless 🤩
Making blini is quite tricky so don't get upset if it doesn't work out as smoothly as in my video, it requires a lot of practice :)

Thank you Victoria! Question: does your Hershey’s Syrup contain High Fructose Corn Syrup? Here in the US it is the first ingredient. I don’t buy things with hfcs because it is really bad for us. I’ve heard that other countries do not use it in foods. Our US government is poisoning us every way they can. 😢

I’m making them for today thank you for the recipe but I don’t have any Hershey syrup but I do have cocoa powder ,,so I am making Coco with butter, sugar, water, a little bit of salt and cook it until it’s thick, I wish I had Nutella but I don’t . I’m just using what I have . It’s still good . Thanks for the great idea today . With my coffee and tea this is so good!!

They do celebrate Christmas. If you quickly scan through her videos, last year they made ginger cookies. The year before that, she explained the differences in the calendars with regard to Christmas and wished us a Merry Christmas in the comments. Given that they have to be careful about accumulating things which they will have to pack up and move, they don't apparently don't decorate like some people do.

We have something so similar to bliny in Slovenija:) we just don't add the oil in the mix. But my granda used to add a little bit of sparkling water. Suggest it to Tolya, it makes them fluffier p.s. we call them palačinke

I would love to learn Russian, especially because I wish I could read the classic Russian authors. I never have. The more research I do as to which English translations are better than others, the more discouraged and confused I get. If I could read the originals it would solve this issue. Alas, I am 50+ so I don't know how realistic that goal would be. :)

Hello from Paris , France . Yes they do . They believe in God and last year they did have a Christmas tree . But in Russia people are orthodox and January 7 th is the most important day ( they get the presents on that day ) .
