Beautiful victorinox Swiss made army knife . it’s awesome Very handy if u like camping, hunting ,multitool as well . This thing have Saw , knife plain & serrated, awl , couple screwdriver , can opener, bottle opener. Nice choice.

I have the same vix (Trailmaster comouflage, -with tweezers & cleaning stick);in comparison with the same plain blade (my Sentinel one hand)-such serrated blade cuts more effective and aggressive,any material cuts in one motion;after that I bought some vix kitchen knives with serrated blades;111-mm vixes has best semi-serrated blades+the position of serrated & plain parts of blade;(130-mm vix rangers,in my opinion, not so good...)It is optimal,I think,in dimensions-weight-options...

Thanks for the very thorough video! The product number of the pouch you show in the video (4.0837.4) is different from the one in the description (4.0822.4). When I researched on the internet, 4.0837.4 is being recommended for the larger 130mm Ranger line and 4.0822.4 for 110mm SAKs as this Soldier 08. I am trying to order the right pouch for my Soldier 08 but know that I've seen your video I am confused. I guess my question for you is: Is the 4.0837.4 pouch you show in the video a little too big for your Soldier 08 given that there is a smaller 4.0822.4 pouch designed specifically for this knife? You are right, I corrected the error in description; thank you. Victorinox offers several models of sheaths for this knife: 4.0482.1, 4.0482.3, 4.0822.4, 4.0547, 4.0547.3, 4.0523.3, 4.0523.3B1, 4.0823.N. But the 4.0837.4 model is also suitable even if it is not as adjusted as the 4.0822.4 model :)

@@diezelle57 Yes a diamond round or half-round file. A light touch is all the serrations need. VERY light. Never any cause to remove steel beyond a molecule or so.

I really like this serrated blade. It is superior for cutting food and fibrous material. But I wonder how I can sharpen it. I was planning to sharpen it on ceramic (Lansky system) like a plain edge blade. With this method, the serrations will disappear eventually but it will stay sharp. Do you have any recommendation?

@@theknifeunboxer9691 This is a general utility knife. Victorinox correctly puts the serrations towards the tip, and leaves a straight edge by the handle for push cuts. The serrations are fairly easy to sharpen. From a practical, actual user perspective the blade is great. So many declare dislike of serrations automatically. Yet in the field this knife blade is effective. It is not a fighting knife. It is for rope and mortadella and schwarzbrot and leather and cloth etc. Even the American military has put the blackened version of this knife on their defense procurement list for soldiers. The blade is not "cool" but it is very useful! Cheers!
