Just flipped through your vids and gave you a sub. Very clear and practical knife demonstrations. I am looking for a pocketknife. I’ve been a fan of Victorianox since childhood and usually carry my trusty red Swiss Army knife while hiking trails or just working in my garden. It’s time for me to upgrade to something a little more durable, but I’d like some functionality as a multi tool too. So I’m just in the market for something and unsure what would fill the gap left from my regular Camper model.

@@aaronlegend14 Thanks for the views and sub. What I've learned is that a specific tool (pliers, saw, scissors, etc.) always serves better than a multi-tool. Of course you can't take all the individual tools with you on a hike. I would split your case into two topics, gardening and hiking/camping. Individual tools for gardening where size and weight are irrelevant. Multitool for hikes where size and weight play a role. Victorinox and Leatherman offer good multi-tools. If the knife is the main tool, I would add something like a "Morakniv Companion MG". This knife is cheap, very sharp, light and relatively robust. I have a lot of fancy and fidgety knives which I honestly only use for light things like opening letters or cutting cardboard. When I want to carve wood in the forest I prefer something more robust like the morakniv or the victorinox evoke. Of course you can do stuff like that with my other knives, but a fixblade knife is always better than a folding knife for heavy work. If it still has to be a folding knife, I would choose a knife for heavy work that is ergonomic and has a good lock such as a backlock, axis lock, compression lock or framelock. I hope you will find your knife. You are welcome to let me know which one you have chosen. By the way, if you still want to buy a good fidget knife, I can especially recommend button lock knives. Sencut Sachse, CJRB Pyrite, CJRB Ekko, Kizer Cormorant, Kizer Hic-Cup, etc. There are hundreds.

Thanks for the video. I am looking for a knife that is foldable and can do carving work in the forest. Would recommend this knife or do you have better options?
@SwizzKnivez10 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for asking! Carving is definitely possible with this knife. But since it is a little too big for my hands, I would have problems to do precise and fine work. I also have to say that the knife was not delivered very sharp. the knife is of good quality. It always depends on what you want to do with the knife, how big your hand is and how much you want to spend. I can't recommend an exact knife, but for outdoor work I would recommend a knife that has a good lock (frame lock, liner lock, back lock, axis lock, compression lock). At around a hundred dollars I would go for a midrange steel (14c28n, AR RPM-9, Nitro-V, N690, 154CM, etc.) If the knife is only used for outdoor work, I would pay less attention to things like the fidget factor, aesthetics, exclusivity and beauty. It is important that the knife fits well in the hand and is stable (good lock, no lose parts). Just tell me if you need more help or infos.

Does the blade lock in place ?

Thanks for watching. Yes it locks. Its called a Back-Lock.

Does it feel comfortable in the hand? handle looks quite thin
@SwizzKnivez4 ай бұрын
Yes it feels comfortable with medium or large hands. It has a normal thickness for a folding knife. Fixed blades knives have mostly thicker knife handles.

Why don't you show the one hand open opening ??? It's the purpose of the Evoke. Ridiculous 😂😂
@SwizzKnivez10 ай бұрын
Some people don’t know that this knife has a Backlock. I wanted people to be able to see the backlock closing. With one hand I would have blocked the view of the backlock.

@@SwizzKnivez could have done both in that case :)
