Incredible review! I'm not too common with dive watches, so I don't know how common it is for them to do that "Divers Case". But I think it's a brilliant idea! You get the elegant looking watch and the practicality on the side...

It's a great tough dive watch. Professional diver here in Miami. I have many high end watches. You don't need the magnifier. Who does? Lol. It's only worthwhile for dives deeper than the watch will allow. It's a gimmick. Like the dumb umbrella in the damn car door no one has ever used. Great watch. Even as a daily.

Hello Peter great review Im not a Diver ( unless you count frequenting dive bars) but you may like the now discontinued but easy to still find Divemaster 500 mecha,it uses a ETA automatic movement is sturdily built and I think quite handsome, comes in several diall colors with genuine rubber corresponding straps. 43 mm so its a bit smaller I own three of them one on bracelet ,fortunately for me I live here in southern Connecticut where the North AM Victorinox HQ is and they have fantastic warehouse sales twice a year where you can purchase the watches from about 25 to 40 % off retail, and usually leads to a glut of re-sales by private sellers on ebay with prices lower than most gray market sites. Just thought you might want to check it out, anyway great vid cheers!

sorry guys but what acually makes this watch a tank!!! have any one opened it to check the movement inside? is thereany special new shock absorbing system for the movement? i think it does not differ than the victorinox dive master 500 with swiss quartz movemnt. it is also made of the normal stainless steel 316 like most swiss watches. the steel is not hardened by any means. so at last why you see it as a tank? go to any victorinox retailer and ask the sales man that you want to step on the watch to check its durability as victorinox annouced and he will tell you nooooo. he can not guatantee anything from what was advertized on the inox tests.

Man i have one green INOX and the red diver inox. I tell you that they nailed it by making it bigger than the other inox ones because its got also more details, its more robust for the diving sake. And, its not massive, ive got a little wrist too

Honestly, little watches are for girls. It doesnt look big at all. I would consider uncomfortable big watches some like Diesel, G-Shock. It looks nice being 45 because it has nice details, beautiful shape and design.

Dude I have the red one and love it... I was always for the conventional black type of watch, but when I saw the red one in the store I went crazy to buy it. It suits beautifully the design of the watch, the color of the fluorescent things (I dont know the name in english) and the red... It suits with my clothes

Any one know where I can get a replacement bumper/magnifier. Victorinox only list the non magnifier version for the smaller watch. Local supplier indicating 6 to 8 weeks lead time.

Very handsome watch, just hope the great whites don't find it so attractive.(enjoyed that part). Again, as always, well done sir. Excellent show and tell! I have some doubt that the protective case cover would stay in place if it were knocked about very much. Do you think it is secure enough for a working diver? Please let me know. 1) The 3 negative points indeed pointless. Come up with real negatives, if there are any. 2) The plastic protector is for diving you mentioned. How to operate the bezel then, Peter?

well, i would imagin that one sets the bezel time and then the plastic protector on after ? I didn't design it, i just reviewed it. But it is for diving, that much is for sure :-) Best wishes Peter

In real use, it would look good with a wet/dry suit but your eyes will be focused on your dive computer 😉

Thanks for your show-and-tell Peter. I suspect the back is plain (devoid of logo) because this would weaken the watch sufficiently as to not be able to withstand the various torture tests Victorinox subjects it to.

Quartz watches are not interesting to me. Vostok Amphibias a my toughest, and only £54. The thick lucite chrystal is tougher than sapphire. I wear one and carry another in my bag to play my pretend games in the wild.
