Great video. The Yeoman gets a lot of praise for having pretty much all the tools of the Explorer, due mostly to the Combo tool. But the absence of the reamer/awl is always overlooked. There’s a blank backside layer on the Yeoman which I think could have housed the Awl. Too bad….

The other thing the Yeoman is missing (but the Explorer has) is an effective "pry bar". Personally I have a Yeoman and thought I would use it all the time but I find myself reaching to put the Explorer in my pocket as a weekend puttering around the house carry. The combo tool is great for opening cans and bottles but it's no good as a pry bar (too thin) and the small screwdriver/phillips on the can opener is also sorely missed.

There were three versions of the magnifying glass first the 8x glass lens with gray frame, next came the all clear plastic 5x model which easily scratched. The third version had & still has a glass lens that is 6x, when they first came out with this version the lens was known to pop out of the frame. Victorinox eventually fixed this problem, I am not sure how to tell the clear frame versions apart, I understand the plastic lens 5x version is all one piece. I have heard the glass version will move in it’s frame. I only have the first version in my collection so far, but I have been told the newest 6x are much easier to use for reading small print. If you learn primitive fire starting techniques it is easy to start a fire using char cloth, with any of the SAK lenses, including the Wenger one.

Also: does anyone know if there are anyway to tell if a Scientist or a Yeloman are originals or customs??

I watched a youtuber I think FX (something), he said if you take off the cellidor scales you can tell how they hammered/peened the rivets.
