VICTORINOX 🇩🇪 MAUSER, Highly Sought After - Episode 68 #SAK #Victorinox Only made by Victorinox, it is discontinued and a highly collectible 108mm Swiss Army Knife. Branded and marketed by Mauser and sold along side their firearms between 1984-2001. Nylon checkered scales. Tools all open in one direction. Lanyard hole. Combination tool blade has screw driver, cap lifter/can opener, wood saw w/saw cover. Spear point blade. Etched, clip point blade. Cork screw. Awl. Thank you for watching! I can remember picking up three of these on clearance sale here in the UK at £20 each ! They came in a green fold out box with gold lettering !I sold them many years ago and see they now fetch good money ! Hardly surprising as they were of limited sale back in the 90s?

Bought one at the start of my army career. All things considered it still looks brand new. The green wood saw is vicious, hence the blade cover. The only omission was a decent tin opener so one was attached to the lanyard. Worth a fortune now I hear. Maybe I should have kept the box but over the decades it had been worth it’s weight in gold in the field. Good bit of kit

These can still be found brand new in a small knife shop in Vienna. They sell them for 90€ new in box.

I legit found one of these thinking it was nothing when I was in college. It’s traveled in my “junk I don’t wanna throw out” drawer from place to place and now 4 years later, I’m finding out its highly sought after. It’s in excellent condition too.

I have had 3 of these and have foolishly lost 2 hiking in the Sierra Nevadas. I don't understand why Mauser and Victorinox cant come together again and produce this knife again since it is a coveted winner even in the $200 range.

I bought my Victorinox de Mauser 108 mm knife from a store in Southampton (UK) back in 1990, for £19.99 - Since learning about knives in the Scouts I had always appreciated a well made and designed knife, and this is no exception. The blades are very strong and a practical size for using in the field, and the saw...Wow, do not underestimate what it can munch through! Makes light work of the hardest tree branches when building a survival shelter in the wild. The blades also make for a damn good pencil sharpener, which is what it's mostly used for when not packed away in my backpack. And hate to say it, but it' was also used to hammer in a few tent pegs one evening in Norway whilst I was travelling around Europe by Inter Rail. So its packed full of memories as well as being a fine example of German/Swiss engineering. To me it's priceless!

Carried one of these for years , excellent knife with a very aggressive saw blade . Liked the o.d. scales as opposed to victorinox red . Peter Paul Mauser would have been proud to have his name on it I'm sure .

The bottle cap lifter doubles as a can opener as well. I know it doesn’t look like it but it actually works quite well.

Yes it is! It is a rather rare version. The GAK has been made by many companies over the years. Most are very good like the victorinox versions, some are lousy like the MMB and others and then some are rare AND very good like your Mauser. Hang on to that one!

It is a later variant of the GAK. Along with the mausers you'll see red scaled versions with a Swiss cross. Those have many different variations; the hunter, Pathfinder, solo plus, safari trooper.. they're great collectables.
