@@marcobreedt1661 You use them to engineer anti guardian field resistance, which is needed for guardian weapons if the titans ever return. The only place to harvest them is from the body of the dying titan. You need a xeno pulse wave scanner and preferably an abrasion laser. A beam laser will do, but the abrasion laser gets more chunks per mining site. You scoop them up with a scoop or preferably collector limpets, and since they go into material storage and not cargo, you don't need a corrosion resistant cargo rack. There are videos on how to do it from Mechan on youtube, where he's scouting the titan. Might be under Live rather than Videos.

Takes my explorer Mandalay to almost 80 light years for about 3.5 years increase. My trading/pirate killing cutter only receives an increase of a little under 2 light years. So probably check your build to make sure it's worth grinding out the mats for refitting. Kind of wish they would have thrown us a couple more size 5 considering how many ships use size 5.

I was skimming through stuff and didn't realize mass manager wasn't already added. it took me up to 81.9 light years. I don't build for range anymore. Couple bad expensive mistakes out in the black with fragile ships. Plus I have a carrier so maxing out my range isn't too important.

I do think it will quiet down after this, perhaps for the rest of this elite’s lifecycle. As in, I don’t see it being EVEN MORE intense after this, this has been too much of a ‘last stand’ sort of event. The double engineered drive runs a little hotter than usual. If you have a ship that already overheats while scooping or boosting and doesn't desperately need a range upgrade, you might want to consider the options first.

An attempt at an extinction event may have caused this but what we just did was not one. We PREVENTED an extinction event. Salvation's supporters may have caused this invasion but the thargoids entering sol and killing billions all over the bubble forced us to end it, in an explosive xenocide. There was no other way after salvation did what he did.

Oh don't worry, the thargoids aren't gone. This was only their scout force. Also from what we know the guardians tried everything to make peace with them, even learned their language, but the thargoids ignored them and insisted on wiping them out.

Well, that's the other thing... The thargoids don't communicate per se. It's a network of low-intelligence drones, birthed from a single queen. This forms one nest, and there are multiple across the galaxy. For instance, if you venture out into the pleides without any guardian tech, the thargoids out there will treat you neutrally because they, or rather their queen, has no knowledge of the war we have been fighting down in the bubble. If the book that shipped with the original Elite in 1984 is to be believed (Elite: The Dark Wheel), then these nests often quarrel with eachother. The one we fought during the first war, the one that Jameson had deployed the Mycoid fungus against, was known even among other thargoid nests as terrible, enslaving drones from other nests. I believe they don't intend to find peace because the concept simply does not exist. In this hive-mind state, they all have the same thoughts more or less. None of them go defiant. None of them ever have. There is no side to take, and thus there is no inter-species conflict. Without the idea of conflict, the idea of peace doesn't exist. I believe they never needed to communicate, because they've never had to communicate beyond their actions since every drone is on the same hive-mind anyways. The only exception to this is when they want to communicate to other queens, and when they wish to store information. The planet-side titan remnants and thargoid beacons have shown us that they do this in the most primitive way possible, literally just a two-dimensional drawing, usually stored as an audio waveform. Now for the conclusion: This is only the third time we are seeing them use the image method to convey information, coming from the titan remnants of the ongoing second war. Now that Cocijo is dying, it's being broadcasted and can only be heard from those titans, I think, because those titans are the only place you would find any thargoid tech for remote communication. What I'm trying to say is that the message is not for us, if it was then the sound would be coming from Cocijo itself. _It's for other nests._ They are trying to communicate human production, multiplication, as if we are a plague, perhaps being in front of the 8 titans to denote that they failed to take us down. We have only been fighting one nest since the FIRST war (it can only be the same nest since they are immune to the mycoid and they have developed the interceptors since then, obviously designed specifically to rival human tech). We couldn't even begin to manage finding the actual queen for this nest. And they are trying to garner the support of the entire galaxy's worth? Haven't they existed for trillions of years? It is very likely they could be found within every corner of the galaxy. God help humanity, God help us all.

We also don't know what the guardians did other than settle on seeded planets, they may have had their own salvation.

I bought the AX fighter Krait with real money just for this, then I got ill and haven't played. I cannot express my disappointment. Earlier today I turned the game on, flew my Krait to Cocijo and landed on the surface to just vibe. Imagined having a brew, took some screenshots to prove I was ever there, then flew to Mars High and turned the game back off.
