From what I've heard in the rules (not gotten it yet, but watched a few games of it) guns with the "weak" trait cannot do critical damage, only basic hull damage. This means the Mogami shouldn't have done critical damage with the light guns at 14:17. Someone correct me if I'm wrong though.

Can you explain how aircraft work in this game? For example, how/when do they move? Can they change altitude? Do they need to rearm after every attack run on a ship? How does aircraft vs aircraft combat work?

Another era of Historical gaming being ruined by Warlord Games. What a crock of crap. Hopefully the real historical gamer will just ignore this game and see it for what it is and is not.

Oh look another gatekeeper of historical miniature gaming, Warlord is making historical gaming fun. Bolt Action, Black Seas, Blood Red Skies, SPQR, Cruel Seas, Konflikt 47, and now Victory at Sea aren't made to be stuffy, chart based, 100% print and no pictures wargame rules, they are meant to be enjoyed in the same way Warhammer 40k is enjoyed. It's not a 100% recreation of history, its inspired by the likes of novels, television series, movies and what not.

Hi Charles. What kind of rules were you interested in seeing in these types of games?
@charlesrowan19784 жыл бұрын
@@emilianomorado407 Like Patric Peters says above stuffy, historical accurate stats reflecti8ng what ever war your fighting. Ground scale and figure scale for the historical gamer who researches their armies. No need for point based armies, scenarios are just fine. The 40k crowd can play what they enjoy but do not push the rules off as historical wargames. I would love to know who of these "gamers" are historical board gamers. Historical Miniature and board games should have the same esteem and dedications as chess. Would tell the WH 40k crowd it's ok we'll just dumb down chess so you can play?

charles rowan I can see it both ways as an older 56-year-old historical Gamer I too would like the respect that historical Gaming brings we never played with points we research to create our Armies..but I also understand bringing the historical content to younger Gamers a.k.a. the 40 K crowd if we can get them off their turbo lazers and into something that’s meaningful maybe it would open up some more doors for them and show them the respect that history deserves but what gets me is when warlord does something they claim it’s historical and it’s not .. meaning look at their blood red skies cover art they show p-51s in Korean War era markings Their zeros are late war zeros where they try to put up against spit IIa which really didn’t see much action in the battle of Britain till the end what we’re trying to say is do your research find historical scenarios that fit and put that in the box my hope is a blood red sky’s starter set for the Pacific will be more like that as for Bolt action I see far too many young kids rocking up as they call it with assault rifles in 1950 German infantry in 1940 ..it’s a game we play on we persevere we teach but try not to judge It’s hard to do All we want issomething fun , something respectful And not a win at all cost type of mentality That is all that we ask

@@SGusky For my part I have moved away from miniatures and have landed in historical board games. In Nov and Dec of 2019 I had promised our game group I would thoroughly review Black Powder. Found major defects in orders, charging, unit classifications. Bolt Action where tanks are the size of 3-4 football fields and there are no sighting rules. Black Seas broke the deal for me. Seeing gamers playing Age of Sail as they would play some skirmish game. That ended my relationship with my miniatures group.
