Because for me the interesting thing about the show and what caught my attention was the dynamic of rivality that Light and L was, when L died and Mello and Near came in the story I felt that it was repetitive like if we were again in ep 1 but with two different new characters, I also found it kinda boring compared with the first part. I feel that if L's Arc was intruded after Near and Mello it would have caught the attention more, what I mean is that L's Arc was the best and the most interesting of the series, if after that you put another arc that is not at the same level, it feels boring, part 2 was not bad at least for me, I enjoyed it but some parts were boring and repetitive and it didn't match the same hype that I had with part 1.

For a LOT of reasons. S2 didn't felt like a new season, it's more like reset... but boring. Mello is not interresing, Near feels like "Aliexpress L without sauce". In my opnion, DN should have ended in S1 with both L and Light dying together, or, at least, S2 should not existed at all.

would be more interesting if mello was the main atagonist of this part. would be more fun dynamic, cause mello was crazy like light. he would probably laugh and mock when he loses, like Light did many times. i like both mello and Near, but would be more interesting if was Mello in the end.
