Good to see you feeling better. The RK Victory and Tele are a good match up and great sounding gigging rig. Love that Tele, it just sounds so good. I'm on my third set of pickups in my Tele and just can't get the bridge pickup right. Think I will look at a Dimarzio next.

This amp sounds great and your demo really shows off its versatility. Sadly I parted with my Kotzen Tele, it was a fantastic guitar but even though I prefer fatter necks this one was a bit of a struggle for me.

@@RichBischoff I had a chance to hang out with Richie recently and he told me he's no longer using the Victory amps. He said Things are not the same as when it all started. I didn't press it. He said he's back to using his red hand wired Marshall. His current rig at the time of this video 10/29/24 is Sig Tele,a single Rk5 V3, Tech 21 sig RK Wah, into the Marshall. The Rk 5 V3 makes it possible to avoid using 2 Rk5's like he had been doing. We talked for a half hour or so. He was such a gracious and friendly host. He signed all my Rk stuff. Both of my Rk fenders on the back of the head stocks, The Tele and Red Strat, my Rk5 V2, and a mess of cds, his Nomad album and the 2015 Japan show dvd. What a great guy. I even showed his a feature on his Tele he didn't know about. Unfortunately it didn't work on his model. I think it's because he had one from the 90's with him. Probably his No 1. Mine is from 2022 so the neck is set differently. you can rest your pick in a groove that's right under where the neck is bolted to the body. It rests right in there up against the neck pickup. try it on yours. It stays put too unless you basically flip the guitar over.

@@partriotsfight5039 Very cool, yeah I have watched several of his live vids currently over the last little while. He's been back to using Marshall for a while. Cool you got to meet him. Jealous! I have an Rk5 as a back up when I am on the road with Toast. Thanks for sharing!

I picked up a s/h RK50 Combo and it's a beast both in weight and sound :p It's nice to have the trem and reverb pedal and the separate boost pedal too which iirc only pushes the input into the first valve? ! I also had a V30 when they first came out and just picked up another one to save my back from carrying that RK to and from rehearsal and gigs...but when you plug it in it just sound so good! Great demo - miss my Kotzen tele - those necks are so damn good.
@RichBischoff Жыл бұрын
Have you used the boost live? And if so, what did you think?
@pmacfto Жыл бұрын
@@RichBischoff I do use it but it's not enough of a lead boost so I use it to either get a bit more crunch or to lift a lead melody or chorus but still use an EP Booster for solos. It sounds like a big boost on its own but in the mix it doesn't seem to have as much impact!

Setting cleaner, does it take OD/Fuzz pedals as good as their other amps?

Yes

Sounds great, thanks or sharing! What distortion pedal would you choose to sound close to this amp? (apart from the RK5 Tech 21)
@RichBischoff Жыл бұрын
Any Marshall type pedal. The closest pedal I have is maybe the NUX Plexi Crunch.

Alright.... Debbie Downer time..... What's the point of this amp except to make money off the Richie Kotzen name for Victory. I really don't see how this amp beats out the RK5 fly rig - there is nothing here it can't do for far less cash. I have never played through a dumble amp but the sans amp on the fly rig is what I imagine it would be like (the thing can hit SRV dumble era tones dead on actually when tweeked - which is flipping unreal). Don't get me wrong.... Great sounding amp and I would love to have one. BUT the RK5 is so good it can make dog dodo loud amps sound great so you don't need this amp if you have the fly rig and can save yourself alot of cash to spend on other cool stuff.
