@disco4535 Жыл бұрын
I have a Peavey Invective that I love for high gain and clean. But I just could not get a decent rock/crunch tone at all, even with my pedals. Adding The Jack has absolutely blown me away with how amazing it sounds. It filled that gap perfectly. And it works great with pedals just like the bigger versions. Its also built like a tank. I wish I would've tried Victory sooner. Definitely a fan now.

Jack of All Trades ... also implies, Master of None ... which is manifestly not the case! Really, everything here was perfectly formed for what it was, as an amp/pedal on its own terms it is indeed the most versatile of the embarrassment of riches across the range. There's always still the question of quite how well it copes with pedals (vs the Duchess), but maybe another day? Also, enjoyed the little nods towards Guthrie-ism at odd moments, (and Quayle-ism I guess).

I think if you used an overdrive pedal and a separate boost pedal in the fx loop (after time based fx) you'd be golden. I'm planning on grabbing one of these bad boys and using it that way, but control the switching with an ES-5.

Yes the preset just changes the cab sim IR's. The channels on the amp can be switched by the button on the amp or you can use a footswitch which also can turn the reverb on and off. Thanks Victory

What an amazing sound and amp/pedal!! One question about the headphones output: Since I am planing on using the jack at home for quiet practise sessions, are the cab simulations also on the headphones output when I am using it, so that I have a good sound via headphones while using nothing else? And could it also be used while recording via the line output for example?
@VictoryAmps Жыл бұрын
Hi Alex, The cab sims are on the headphone output, the speaker output does not need to be connected. Also the cab sims can go through the line output as well, there is a switch on the back that turns this on and off, thanks Victory

Hey there, Thanks a lot for the quick answer! Can't wait to try the jack out! Another question: Which 2x12 cabinet from Victory would you recommend in combination with the v4 the jack? Would the V212-vv be a good fit, or would there be a better option in terms of ohm/wattage?
@VictoryAmps Жыл бұрын
@@alexguitarman Yes the V212-VV would work well, it would being 16 Ohm mean you will be getting around 45 watts, you could also pair it with the V112-Neo which would give you the full 180 watts, Thanks Victory

You're an insanely good player. How does this amp sound of you just play some rock-n-roll riffs in a rhythm style, on the crunch channel??? It seems, as you said, that this amp is designed to be very versatile....if so, that style of playing should be covered. The clean sounds great.....the high gain can be dialed into make fusion-esq, lead playing sound great....but, I have no idea how this sounds if you want to dial in a biting, crunch rhythm tone, which is where 90% of rock-n-roll players live, on an amp. I find it incredibly odd today that you can find hundreds of demo's of shredders, chuggers, "djenters", etc... but, very few people that can play a killer rhythm oriented riff to show off the articulation of a crunch/gain tone when playing chords. Can this amp do that? I saw roughly 3sec's of that kind of playing. I would consider this amp, but given it's price tag, I would want to make sure that side of things is covered before purchasing.
@VictoryAmps2 жыл бұрын
Hi Phil, our product demo video may have more crunch/gain chords here kzbin.info/www/bejne/rHi3ameEp7apj8k if not we should have more videos coming over the next few weeks or check out some of our dealer videos. We do believe the Jack can do the crunch/gain type tone you are asking about it, especially on channel 1. Thanks Victory

Totally know what you mean Phil. I once saw an official launch video of a preamp pedal a few years (not victory I might add) and the guy just shred single note playing over the whole 20 min video. He didn’t strum a single chord! Lol totally useless demo

@@VictoryAmps Thank you!!!! Not trying to belittle Jack Gardiner in ANY way....my comments were meant to be genuine, and very respectful...hopefully, I came across that way. But, that's a massive epidemic right now with these gear demo's. At least in Jack's case, his playing is absolutely beautiful, and tasteful....I just don't play like that (not even in my dreams...lol). I'm a drummer first, guitar player second, and solely focus on playing all the fun 70's/80's riffs (and yes that killer brown sound from EVH's Fair Warning, or Ratt's Invasion of your Privacy tones) that made us old people want to play guitar in the first place. *I"m actually trying to figure out which of Victory's models sounds closest to Martin's Cornford MkII line.* But, yes...just a 30-60sec demo of that kind of playing/tone is all that's needed. I think a ton of players would not only appreciate it, but be convinced that this is worth the purchase. Thanks a million for the reply...I've got an enormous amount of respect for Martin Kidd and all the products he's made over the years. 👍
@phillamoore1572 жыл бұрын
@@Docksidestudio1 Yeah....not trying to belittle these people in any way. But, if you can't get a killer rhythm tone, like EVH did, or Warren DiMartini did...all those great players from the late 70's and 80's, then the lead tone, IMO, is moot. Not only that, but for the 10sec on a song where there's a lead being played, a pedal (especially today's overdrive pedals) is more than enough for that thick lead tone, everyone's after. So, the whole idea of doing a video around chugging/djent'ing/shredding....especially on a $4K amp, that's designed to cover every genre imaginable, is ironic to me, to say the least. It's an absolute epidemic right now. I literally had to go to a music store that had the new Soldano to see if it was as good as the old one's, because of the 50 demo's on it, either the player had NO idea how to dial it in, or literally couldn't play anything out side of that chug/shred style. Anyway, I'm starting to sound like a wind up monkey. Victory is a GREAT company, and Martin Kidd is a genius...so, it sounds like Victory will take that to heart and include just a minute or two of how these amps cover that very sought after genre/tone. 👍
