They way this OP was using this horn was not like an a-hole, not "road rage" no, it was very preventative, giving heads up or warnings to people to prevent crashes. He wasn't laying on the horn being a jerk to people, he was using it as sparingly as possible. As you can hear, he even does a bit of bike bell even after the horn is installed--when a gentle nudge is all that is needed.

I really like your videos. But I dont get why you have so much trouble with jaywalkers that you still run red lights yourself... Isnt it best for you to follow the rules like you want everyone to follow them?
@EugeneD77 жыл бұрын
I don't have a problem with jaywalkers, I have a problem with jaywalkers in my way. The golden rule I believe in for NYC is not to be anyone's way. Doesn't matter if it's Walk/Don't Walk if you can get from one side to the other without being in anyone's way you're ok in my book. Same for blowing reds, I always do a mini stop or slow down to check that there are no cars and I try to yield to peds (sometimes I fail). I wouldn't really care if cars blow reds either as long as no one is around to get hit by them. If you're going to break the rules/law do so politely lol
@grisarevert7 жыл бұрын
Well maybe, but this one time in 1000 'attempts' is the one where you make a mistake. Just maybe like everyone else so I feel like it's really up to following the law for the traffic to improve. Ofcourse I live in Belgium so a lot more people don't run reds...
7 жыл бұрын
You should go to thailand and then your opinion of traffic will change. People do what they need to so they can get to their place faster. I only saw one accident in my month of cycling there. In london I'll see roughly 2 a day. I know that is anecdotal, but I felt so much safer in thailand than any other country I've cycled in (The list is not small). People need to stop thinking that road laws are the be all and end all. You won't explode if you run a red. Stop being so scared of authority all your life and be your own person.

Why do I want a loud bicycle horn? Let me count the ways ! :-) I am 70 years old and live in Florida. I enjoy biking it around the neighborhood but my heart seems to jump in my throat when approaching an intersection where a car is poised to pull out in front of me. I had an Airzound that sometimes did not work loud enough to alert drivers. Same for an electronic horn. Seems there would be no question as to whether a driver would pay attention to me if I tooted at them with your awesome horn. It's all about safety. Thanks for the video.

I have come close to being doored a few times but so far have quickly averted disaster. But no I have never been doored. There was a time where a Taxi passenger suddenly threw her door open and I stopped but not fast enough. My fingers were crushed between the door and my own front break. Hurt but nothing serious. I pulled up to the taxi driver and yelled at him something like "Why the f*** are you letting your passenger get out like that? Pull over! I really didn't need this shit tonight" and I left.
