Vidbox Video Conversion For PC is a great little device that comes with better than average software for recording. If you're looking for a no fuss solution for recording old videos into an MP4 format these devices are a great buy.

The VIDBOX is highly inferior to the Elgato capture device. I bought them both through Amazon and quickly returned the VIDBOX for a full refund. The VIDBOX video was very noisy (grainy-looking) whereas the Elgato is very, very clean. In addition, the VIDBOX signal kept "pulsating" in brightness throughout capture and playback. The Elgato does not do this, and the results are great.

Elgato's resolution 640x480 is lower than the PAL resolution 720x576. Therefore, a Hauppauge USB-Live2 Analog Video Digitizer might be better for PAL.

Were you recording the same source? Pulsating light is common if you are trying to record any media that has Macrovision baked into it, if your device is recording those signal lines.

The videos that I'm digitizing are my own S-VHS (NTSC) recordings. There is no Macrovision involved. The VIDBOX I purchased was garbage. I am aware that there are quality control problems with many of the video digitizers in today's marketplace. I got a useless VIDBOX. Others might get a better one. I have 3 other devices now that are far superior.

@@myronachtman4304 Ah, I see. I have the 01 Vidbox that I picked up for a fiver at a yard sale, but yeah, while they're easy and fast to set up , I don't think they're great or like, THE best quality adc on the market. (Certainly not in today's market.) I also certainly wouldn't pay $80 for one!

@@myronachtman4304 Do you have any recommendations on what to use? Trying to transfer old home videos and like an idiot I bought Roxio which is not good at all. It works as intended and is easy to use but the loss in quality is truly something else. I tested Jurassic Park and it did the same thing to the quality.

Hey thanks for the video and those it work with Windows 10 64 bit, as you know windows has stop support with USB 2.0 and only works with 3.0 USB, once again awesome video.

Wtf did you hear that? Windows 10 still drives usb 1.x, 2.x, & 3.x.... depending on your hardware. Sure you are better off with faster, but usb doesn't quit if it is the slower ones .

I take it that it wont provide TBC then ?? Time base correction to bring it to the highest level

Thank you so much for your insight. I have couple of questions. 1. Is this the best Vidbox converter in term of quality. If not, would love to know which one is. Regardless of the price. 2. You mentioned in the very end of the video about to using this for recarding an audio. What if I care highly about both of qualities for video and audio. Do u recommend to use 2 separate devices. If so. What should I use for audio recording That's All. Many thanks

I have 9.0 when I used the advanced mode the recording stop and freezes White and I have to exit out anybody can help

Thank you for the review. This seems like a good solution for me. I have dozens of old VHS tape of my family which I'd like to move to digital media. Can you recommend a software package for editing the files after they are converted? What do you think of WIndows Video Editor? It looks to be fairly simple to use and it is included with Windows 10.

I didn't get to test it with Windows 7, but I know it definitely works with Windows 8.1 and 10 which I it on. As far as processors go, you won't have any issues.
