She did. The problem was that Matt took Ava's trust in him for granted and never appreciated what she's done for him. This is what lead to the trust issues she had with him. Ava was busting her butt off trying to help make their company a success, kept the house clean despite being tired and even supported Matt at his worst. He hardly appreciated her efforts, belittled her, had an affair with her friend, Symphony, divorced her and left. Matt basically left Ava on her own while he screwed around, wasted money and spoiled Symphony. Ava was lost in trying to work on building the company by herself, but then Tyler came to her aid. He was very patient, caring and was there for her at her worst. With Tyler's help, business savvy and knowledge in finances, he was able to help Ava make it a success. Her life goes uphill, while Matt's life goes downhill. He finds out that Symphony lied to him about having a well established job when in reality, she was living off her parents' money, never cleaned house and was using him for her benefit. When Matt realized too late what he done and went back to Ava for a 2nd chance, she kicked him out immediately. She tells him off he was never there for her at her worst, betrayed her trust and cheated on her by having that affair with Symphony. Ava mentions that Tyler had been her rock, support and is dependable. She doesn't need a lying cheater like Matt in her life and slams the door in his face.

I think this is better than lying and cheating behind the girlfriend/wife for a long period of time.
