Awesome job. I am going to try it. The only concern I have if the steering since I have never done anything like that before. Any suggestions on c9mponents I can buy so the steering will work out perfect? Thanks again, Bob

Great video! Where did you get the column with the flange? Would love to use that as a camera bazooka instead.
@vidcreations2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I made the column. If you know someone who can cut and weld steel, they should be able to make one for you.

Is there a video on the head unit that you mount the jib crane on? Also, what kind of tubing is being used for the jib crane extensions? Thanks!

Hi Jimmy, I didn't understood which type of Wheels and Tyres (zoosa or something?) I'm trying to build a doorway dolly here in Italy. Thank you
@vidcreations7 жыл бұрын
The wheels are Azusa, the name of the company, aluminum split rim. Here is a link to them on one Web site. www.bmikarts.com/5-Aluminum-Split-Wheel--58-Bearing-Front_p_1549.html They are 5 inch diameter and 4 inches wide. It is important to get the precision wheel bearings, which these have installed. Also the same Web site has tires that should work. Here is the link www.bmikarts.com/5-Aluminum-Split-Wheel--58-Bearing-Front_p_1549.html But I was able to find the tires for half as much looking around on Web sites. Since you are in Europe, I don't know if they will ship to you. Google "Racing Kart Parts" and look for Europe sites. If you can't find Azusa, look for Van-K split rims. Get two, 2 inch halves, and you will also need a wheel hub for each wheel. Very important to make your spindles at 90 degrees to the frame. NO camber or caster.

Jimmy Mecannic thank you very much. You really helped me out.
@CarlitoBeibe7 жыл бұрын
evne tough the two links are identical, however I think I should look for matching tyres, the slick racing type
@vidcreations7 жыл бұрын
Yep, I goofed and didn't copy the second link. However you can find tires on most sites for karts. Here is one link to tires. cometkartsales.com/4.10-3.50x5-Slick-Tire.html

Thank you Jimmy! You can't understand how much you're helping us! Me and my sister are obsessed by dolly move in dramatic situations, thank you thank you thank you! Could you tell us also about the structure? Those seems to me 2x1 and 1x1 inches steel tubing, maybe 1/5'' thick? And 3/4'' birch plywood? I think we will go with non-steerable wheels first. Making the centipede-like solutions with skate wheels will be simpler and cheaper but making the track will be difficult and expensive (consider that here is like third world, we don't have access to machines even tough I'm trained to use that) :D thank you!

How much would you say the dolly costed without the jib?
@vidcreations4 жыл бұрын
The material cost me about $500. The tires and wheels alone cost over $300. You can get cheap tires and wheels, but it will show up when using the dolly.
@hypecenturion4 жыл бұрын
Jimmy Mecannic thank you! Do you mind leaving a link to where I can find wheels like this?
@vidcreations4 жыл бұрын
@@hypecenturion Prices can very up to $10 for each wheel. It's best to search "Azusa go kart wheels." Then search for the best prices.

Sr. can you please send me the size of the frame and size between wheels. Thanks you!
@blakeonline6 жыл бұрын
any lower price options for the wheels? i wouldn't mind some sort of plastic ones. also how did you make the steering mechanism?
@vidcreations6 жыл бұрын
You could use Harbor Freight wheels, but you will not get a smooth dolly. Plastic is definitely out. They would transfer every bump the wheels went over. If you look at 7:54 on the video, it shows a pretty good view of the steering.

any reccomendations of a spindal i should get with these wheels www.bmikarts.com/5-Aluminum-Split-Wheel--58-Bearing-Front_p_1549.html%C2%A0But
@vidcreations6 жыл бұрын
Some of the spindles may work from BMI. Make sure the spindle is a "T". No king pin inclination. If you can weld, get two 5/8" axles and make your own. The steering arm is another problem. My dolly the steering arm needed to be low to clear the frame. Most steering arms on spindles are even with the axle.

would you build these for other people, and where are you located, just considering shipping cost

@@vidcreations OK Im not in a big hurry and i can do the deck and painting if that helps, or is possible just to get a parts list of what i would need from the go kart supplier?
@johnwelsh25084 жыл бұрын
How much did everything cost for you to put this together?
@vidcreations4 жыл бұрын
About $500. The tires and wheels are the most expensive part and the most important. If you use Harbor Freight cheep tires the dolly is like on a pebble road.

could you send me prints on the doorway dolly and the jib?
@vidcreations8 жыл бұрын
I assume you are talking about blue prints. There are no blue prints, everything is in my head. The dolly should be able to be made by looking at the video. There is a video about the jib crane and I filmed myself making the jib crane. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZqWnaoGbmN2hpZI
