The 2014 Special Olympics USA Games, in cooperation with Special Olympics Inc., have created a four-part video series celebrating the achievements of individuals with intellectual disabilities and the power of one person to create an environment of inclusion and acceptance. Introduced into schools by Special Olympics Programs nationwide, the 2014 Special Olympics USA Games School Enrichment Program, Presented by HESS, will have a lasting impact on thousands of students across the country.
Each of the four short videos will have a specific theme and corresponding activity guide. The guides are intended for use at the Elementary, Middle and High School levels. Each video concludes with a Call to Action that empowers students to take a leadership role in supporting the 2014 USA Games in New Jersey or their home state, Special Olympics and promoting social inclusion.
Video themes:
1. Be A Fan -- Focus on diversity.
2. Be A Friend -- Focus on bullying.
3. Be A Teammate -- Focus on encouragement.
4. Be The One -- Focus on taking action.
We invite all schools to join us in celebrating the 2014 USA Games, the "Games of Welcome and Acceptance," by participating in the School Enrichment program and challenging students to heed the Call to Action to build communities of respect, acceptance and dignity in their schools. Videos can also be viewed on Special Olympics website.
