Thank you doctor for this very informative video. Makes me wonder why I'm paying some specialists mega bucks, only to receive half baked, rushed and sloppy advice. I went through a cutterage on GA in Jan this year. The gynaecologist removed a polyp but I continued to bleed after 1.5 months. I went to another gynaecologist. Imagine my shock when the second gynaecologist discovered two more polyps! I had to go for another operation. All in all, I went through two operations (both GA) within the span of 5 months! The first gynaecologist is really sloppy and negligent. Such a disgrace to good and skillful doctors like yourself and my second gynecologist. God bless you, doctor!

Hi Dr., thank you for the thorough information! My polyp was discovered during an endometrial biopsy to check for endometritis. I was negative formit but Fragments of a polyp were found in the sample. But a polyp has never been visualized during transvaginal ultrasound. Can I rely on the sample to be accurate? I would rather not do expensive hysterscopy unless truly warranted. I am trying to conceive and keep having chemical pregnancy. This is the only thing that has come up. along with elevated bcl6 level suggestive of endometriosis.

@@subtlylondon9090 All doctors I visited told me my uterus wasn't a problem. My life changed crazily last year as I got divorced. The first thing I did was to start taking the pill. All my symptoms went away: the painful mensies, the spotting... I feel much better now and my qualify of life has notably improved. My plan now is to become a single mum with donor sperm. My doctor suggested I have surgery to check my endometrium and also slightly correct my uterus shape. Then I'll go for an IUI with donor sperm 😉

Is the removal process painful and can one resume work after surgery immediately?

Removal can be done under anesthesia whichnwill not be painful. Small polyps can be removed without anaesthesia in the clinic. This can lead to a little discomfort while removing the polyp. One can work immediately after the removal.

Had surgery yesterday I am feeling good this morning. Other than feeling anxious and frightened by other people I saw at the day surgery it actually was better than I thought it would be. Throat is a bit rough due to the tube they put in your mouth to assist with your breathing I guess. But was alert pretty quick and had slight bleeding. Was informed to bring pads so was fine. Also had to wear stockings on legs due to advice on how to prevent blood clots. Hope this helped.

@@tulikapriyaofficial2268 I opted to have the surgery where I was put under because I would not have been able to do it awake. Some offices will do it awake. I would not do it that way. It was no painful at all because I was put under. I bled for a couple days like a period and that was it. The only hiccup I had was my IV popped and I was sobbing hysterically when I came back from anesthesia. But that wasn’t related to the surgery itself. The procedure whatever it’s called that I had to do prior to this to see if I had polyps the saline ultrasound that for me was extremely painful. I’m very thankful I got the surgery done I feel it was definitely one of the reasons that helped me stay pregnant.

Polyps usually cause bleeding in between periods. If it is large it can caus eheavy bleeding. The reason is becasue the surface area of the endometrial cavity is increased becasue of the polyp. Also the polyp can irritate the endometrial cavity causing it to bleed more

I have a question! I have light spotting for like 26 days started May 8, 2021 then it ended June 2, 2021. My friend said it is polyps coz she had the same symptoms but hers didn’t go away for more than a month until she had surgery to scrape off the polyp. I’m still waiting for my regular menstruation to check and see if I’m back to normal or it will occur again like last time. Btw i gained just in 3months 10kilos, but now im on a diet and lost a couple of pounds and eating veggies more often. Coz last few months mostly fatty foods. I’m in a “watchful waiting” I hope i don’t get it again though
