Agreed. I keep seeing reports of dam breaks, but all of the water seems to be overflowing at emergency spillway overflow channels. Nashville City Reservoir has reached maximum capacity, so that excess water has to go somewhere.

We had another bad flash flood the week prior in a neighboring town, few cars got submerged. It was from a stationary storm that dropped 4.5-5” of rain over 2 hours. There’s been a few nasty stationary rain storms lately.

A shelter has been set up at the community center. Evacuate now!" Just curious, what did the other alerts say? My weather radio never went off, usually dam failures/overtopping may be relayed by NWS. I also heard something about phones being autodialed in the evacuation area. Idk how much time they actually had to get out. Either way, find out the warning time, revise emergency plans and make them better for the next time!

There was literally no way out of town for around 7 hours today because of the flooding on all roads around town. Hundreds of people that live out of town but work in the area were stuck and unable to get home during that time. There were about a dozen homes that had to be evacuated by boat and several other homes and businesses now have serious water damage to their building interior and exterior. Not exactly fake hype....

My friend was just w/o power in Texas for 3 days. As far as I know the ppl in Houston are still w/o power. This stuff rarely happens in democrat states because we take action, and repair these old dams, or remove them.....illinois is a wavering state so I am sure there are areas that don't believe in maintained...that is ultra conservative. lol. If anyone knows of the flooding in vermont the past 4 or 5 years...just last week too..our dams have never failed. All the dams and resavoirs built for the purpose of flood control have all been gone through, and fixed with big federal money projects. Some states refuse that money and will never take it to make their infrastructure more modern. It is unclear here if there was a dam failure or not though. My father always talked about things happening in certain states because they refuse federal money..I thought he was nuts until The youtube here showed me how true that really. Some red states people don't even ahve healthcare unless they are very wealthy and pay huge premiums..here in vermont almost anybody can get affordable health care. IT is sad that some of our states have to be their own countries...states rights have cause our nation so much pain.
