It was a game changer. The Powel & H-street videos were cool but this one made us stoked. Questionable was different. NONE of us could be like Pat Duffy so it didn't get us 'stoked' to skate because we couldn't 50/50 handrails. Most was board slide em & even then it had to be low rails. But skating smooth was something we could do. Control our backside kicklips over manholes and landing it w/ swag was doable & my god what a year.. ANother part almost like this was Ed Templeton in NewDeal.. How ironic that Templeton & JasonLee grew up together... FU Ed Templton! there's an audio engineering phenomenon where tape heads often give a ~200hz bump to everything, and a lot of kick drums have the "thud" in that area. i think new speakers these days exemplify it. lots of devices to mimic that type of behavior too. i have a pair of Rupert Neve 542s on my bench that have actual 1/4" tape heads in them for these types of things.

Celebrities learn how to do the bare minimum on a skateboard and become pro, bc companies can make money off their name. It doesn't have much to do with skill or style anymore. Ig models learn how to pop a low Ollie, film it, put it on social media and bc they're fun to look at for most dudes, they get the spotlight when in reality, actual skaters clown on those kinds of people. People like us MIGHT get flowed. But we are expected to break our bodies in half bc of what kids do these days.

You would definitely get sponsored for a video like this. I've literally seen it. Sponsorship doesn't mean they'll just hand you money but they will still give you a couple decks maybe with some bearings or wheels plus advertisement stickers for something like this. Especially with the vert skating. A street and vert skater? They'd probably send some shoes and shirts too. The point of sponsorship is that you advertise for them as you film your future sessions. There's also very different levels of sponsorship. So no, what you think is not true sir.
