Ploughing with the 724 and 939, leading sugar beet along side a Vervaet harvester, spraying resumes until rain stops play, and we attend a Fendt operators training course.

ATGT or JFDH drilling after beet?
@JDautopower Жыл бұрын
Sorry don’t understand your abbreviations, but it’s not our farm, we are only contracted in to help harvest the beet.
@farmertomwilko Жыл бұрын
@@JDautopower I thought it would be Turnbull or Hargreaves that’s all
@JDautopower Жыл бұрын
It was ATGT drilling after the beet 👍🏻

When setting up the plough on the GPS, at what point on the plough do you set as the working distance from the GPS receiver ? Is it the front furrow or back furrow or a furrow in between ? Thanks
@JDautopower Жыл бұрын
I usually set it up about mid way of the length of the plough. Usually the gps receiver has all the tractor dimensions in it, so the measurement is taken from the linkage arms. This I find gives the ability to plough curves on headlands more accurately.

Beet harvester certainly make it look easy But what was the value of or that kit in the field Harvester / carting trailers / tractor & plough then drilling combination?
@JDautopower Жыл бұрын
I’m not sure of the value, but a guess of about 1.5 million new price……… a lot of money and investment.

Yes great kit.would be able for a large acerage.

When you are transporting the plough on the road do you carry it on the linkage or does it rest on the land wheel?
@JDautopower Жыл бұрын
Yes we rest it on the plough wheel, as it’s a heavy plough and puts a lot of strain on the top link. The plough is put into the butterfly position, ie on its back, and the the depth wheel is swung into transport position which allows it to spin 360 degrees. The top link is disconnected and the lift arms on the tractor are raised fully, and it’s ready for transport. Will have to see if I can film it
@ski7470 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply, yes would be good to see how it is moved into the transport position.

Not sure you should be spraying onto standing water the Roundup is going to get into the ground water and we are already facing criticism and attempts to ban it. Some money in Arable it seems us Livestock boys cant afford 2nd hand tractors let alone new fendts lol
@JDautopower Жыл бұрын
I get what you are saying about the roundup, but it wasn’t a very large patch in the whole field, years ago our Internal Drainage Board used to use roundup spraying out the bottoms of there drains to kill reeds ect.
