I think the cat in the end is a reference to Schrödinger's cat, a thought experiment which illustrates the paradox of quantum superposition. In any case, great comeback for TWICE. Loved the references!

I'm pretty sure it's a reference to Schrödinger's cat which is consistent with the M/V theme of "Scientist" (i.e. Nerd Love).

The cat is also the reference to Frankenstein, which appears in Chaeyoung’s lines. Cat in literature is a symbol of coming back to life. Just like Frankenstein, who is composed of human dead bodies. And there are screws on Frankenstein’s head or neck as well. TWICE is telling us to have pure love to others like Frankenstein❤️

Jordan this is just my theory it also include past MVs. Twice have a multiverse and the start might be their japanese releases "HAPPY HAPPY" "BREAK THROUGH" and "FAKE AND TRUE". Happy happy and break through might be the opposite world of each other and by thinking it with colours Happy Happy is a good Twice and Break Through is Evil. Fake and true because it hints for "More and More". So these are just things that scream "Multiverse". And the Collusion of the multiverse might start with Feel special. It have it's own beautiful meaning but u can also think it as the beginning of the Collusion because There were two Jeongyeons. And in More and More and I can't stop me, Jeongyeon Character is something like an evil being. Making other girls break rules(Eating the forbidden apple and crossing the Red Line). Remember these. Twice world is like A world of love. All of their songs are about love and even in their japanese song "BDZ" they are the protector of love. And these "Love" starts after eating the forbidden Apple. So the Evil Jeongyeon might be afraid or does not want the SCIENTIST TWICE in the "Scientist" world to know the real thing behind love so she got into the "Scientist" world. And Her target is Pure and Joyful Sana. U can see it in one Frame that there are Two Sanas. One of them being the Scientist world Sana and the other being evil Sana. And then Later in the MV Sana cut the wires and all system malfunction. That might mean Evil sana complete her Take over and started to destroy the Love Lab And then Momo who might be an evil momo comes in and then all the other evil twice members came in and destroy the lab. And then the mastermind Jeongyeon go and plugged of the main wire. Hence the cat came out of the egg instead of something related to love(Also cats are symbolic of rebirth and resurrection) And then Evil Twice took over and the Scientist Twice are sent over to the Fantasy land. There is a scene that twice members are watching with a projector and crying etc. That might took place after evil twice take over because it felt like they are watching their past memory and celebrating(crying happily). And I'm the final scene where there are many twice it might be that all of them are from other universes and have fallen after Evil Jeongyeon Influence and doesn't want this Scientist world to find out the truth behind Love(Flashback to Adam and Eve concept). And celebrating with the dance from the OG evil twice. What do y'all think??

I've no idea about the cat but I loved your reaction. The 3 versions of the album are Study about love, full of love and explosion. If we gather all the informations, that's a lot of work to conceptualize the comeback. The album is so good, they even have a rap song produced by DAVIDIOR. I liked this cheerful side, that changes of the darkness of I can't stop me and Cry for me.

If you look closely at the "twice audience" there are actually 3 different versions of each member doing different things. They also managed to disperse them in a way where there isn't an obvious repeating pattern. Not sure exactly how it works but it seems extra work went into making that shot look good.

I think one thing you might've let slip is that they are the nerds. In the beginning we can see that they were all the time stuck trying to look for the formula of love, but they wreck the lab as in an anology of love being free from rules and theories, and in the end they present it freely through dancing, as if there is no way to explain with words or formulas, but simply through moving and living in it.

I don't believe the song is about nerds. It's about guarded mates. The person who is so guarded that they look at every angle before giving and receiving love from a partner. They choose to examine the situation like a scientist. Paraphrasing the lyrics: "You are not Einstein. Stop examining the situation. So better make your move. I'm waiting."
