It’s really tough seeing how overwhelmed you are with your work right now. And then, when you're finally done, you still have to stress about basic things like whether you'll even have enough to eat. It feels like your job isn't giving you any real sense of value or fulfillment. It's like you're stuck in this cycle where you're just getting by, but never really moving forward or breaking free.
@dillonc7955Күн бұрын
I think the hopelessness also comes from the lack of confidence while working a terrible job. You don't have to be stuck at that fast food restaurant or warehouse job forever. If you've got tuition benefits, use them for college or trade school. If my Mom let me do masonry during high school, I'd be making tons of money now since it's quite a dying trade. Can't even find classes for it in 2024.

Technically speaking, partaking in any activity that’s just a diversion that doesn’t improve your unique skills as a person or result in you producing something unique and meaningful to your deeper purpose in life is a “waste of time.” People often consider books somehow immune to this, but I think just binge reading books constantly just for sheer entertainment is technically just as much of a time waste as gaming is. I’d even go so far as to brand a lot of socialising as a time waste. After all, how exactly is going out casually with people to just get distracted temporarily at a concert or a night club or some other social diversion any less of a pointless time waste? Sure it’s social and “grass-touching” but so what? I’ve found a lot of social interactions are vapid in large groups and not particularly satisfying by cultivating meaningful and deeper connections with others. Same goes for dating which I think is often times the biggest waste of time of all seeing how neurotic and confused so many people are in the dating world and how they’re in turn just frequently either using one another for sex or validation rather than meaningful true relationships. Anyways, I personally love gaming as my personal diversion of choice, because I’ve found it to be the most fun and satisfying diversion life has on offer currently that I’ve tried. I do also do productive stuff like draw and write, but to relax gaming is definitely my go to pass time. I wish there was more meaningful stuff out there, but such is the dull and unsatisfying state of our modern world.

Current day living for Millennials and Gen Z can suck sometimes. It's a give and take world. The more you work, the more expenses you got, the less benefits you get from the government. Once you are on the government dole, good luck in finding decent employment that takes you out of the welfare system. The government can be a hindrance to average young citizens. But video games, can be a good escape from this reality. Good video, Steam.

I used to be into the deeper more harcore kind of gaming but not anymore. Dissapointent after dissapointment. Fallout 76, Borderlands 3, Cyberpunk...they all sucked. Companies getting greedy putting out half-baked games. Than a lot of these games are also full of micro-transactions. The quality of most video games has dissiminshed to a point where its not even good escapism anymore. I still play Mario or Donkey Kong a couple times a week but thats it.
