when you don't buy something because it cost is at market value, are you referring to the amazon used price or price charting? like sonic adventures sell for 103 on amazon but price charting has it at $49.

It is a mix of both, for things that I can sell on Amazon I use that value, for things that I cannot I use the Pricecharting value.
