Going for ebay prices is dangerous though... because the only games you see on ebay, are the ones that are not selling. People didn't want the game at that price, that is why it is still on there. When a competitive price is listed it often goes fairly quickly. That is why games in pricecharting appear consideringly cheaper, because they look at actual sales, not just listings. In general, very annoying to visit stores without prices on their games.
@ryandann93622 жыл бұрын
Also ebay takes a cut of that sale, so if a game sells for 100, the seller o ly gets 80(not sure if ebay takes 12 or 20%). Then shipping cost. So is the game really worth 100 if the seller only gets 80 for it? I think the games worth 80 in that scenario. If only game stores considered that, and atleast didn't hike their prices way above price chart
@diegog18532 жыл бұрын
@@ryandann9362 Totally, I just hate the emphasis they give on online shopping. I mean... what is even the point of going to the store then? If I can get the game delivered to my house for a similar price or lower. I mean ebay and going online is expensive for the people that need specific games quickly, it is convenient and accesible so it is more expensive. But If I go to a store is because I am browsing for good deals, I am making the effort to go to their store. And they just apply a reverse uno card on me by giving me an ebay price anyways right on the spot, like if I couldn't do that.
@Warrior_Resisting_Colonialism2 жыл бұрын
@@diegog1853 The store has overhead also though. Generally this is why it's cheaper shopping online. You're cutting out store and employee overhead.
@diegog18532 жыл бұрын
@@Warrior_Resisting_Colonialism Don't know, I don't think that is necessarily the case. I mean partially the point of stablishing a big buisness is that selling large quantities allows you to sell them cheaper and so be more competitive. Like who is going to sell you a flower cheaper? A guy that took care of only that one flower, a flower shop or a mega flower corporation. Each step has a larger overhead but still lower prices. Sure the ebay seller of just the one game doesn't have to pay anyone or anything, but he is also not trading large amounts of games. Again I could be wrong, I am not saying that everyone should just lower their prices but really... If I walk into a store and see a game at a higher price than an ebay listing, that is a game I am not buying. Because I could just get it cheaper and delivered to my home right there and then. If anything, at least for me in my personal experience, the only way a physical store can even compete with ebay is having lower prices than them.

Nothing I hate more at a game store than when there are no prices. Scratch that, I hate if there are prices, and they go ahead and look them up and raise the prices. I know of one place that does this, and I stopped going there. I also hate when they look it up and tack on extra. Those prices already include 12-20% ebay take and shipping costs. They can't be happy with making that extra? Maybe price charting should adjust their pricing and take ebay cut off the listed value.
@Crash_Linux2 жыл бұрын
If you’re in the US, raising prices at the register is a federal crime. Federal Consumer Protection laws specifically state that all merchandise must be sold at listed price. This means if something has a price of $10.99, it must be sold at $10.99 or less. Not $11 or more.

@scottythegreat19 ай бұрын
Koei had very few, but very loyal customers that bought every game they made. So very few of their cartridges are lying around. They're hard to find and very expensive when you do find them. I noticed this store had the NES cartridge of Uncharted Waters. I've heard Bandit Kings of Ancient China is the most expensive of Koei's NES games (I often cite it as the second hardest NES game, after Dragon quest 2). Not only that, but Koei also used a more expensive MMC5 cartridge in a lot of their games, and those typically fill the cartridge, where most cartridges only fill half the space.
