Salazzle Dazzle I’ll hit you with another whopper: What if the true premise that benrey begins asking for his passport and following him everywhere is that he suspected Gordon was acting differently, but didn’t want to bring it up so he wouldn’t be offensive until the whole I thought we were friends etc and memories stuff and benreys like “oh shit,,,,, , either he really changed or that’s not the Gordon I know, either way we aren’t friends anymore” Might not be solid? But definitely angsty

My heart just died reading this. It would fit so well into the story if that was the case. And Benrey knew he couldn’t save his Gordon after WayneGordon took over and probably did mess everything up with the experiment. Which we have to assume was possibly a normal procedure that never really went wrong, before the player joins at least. So he just lost his best friend and his entire world just got messed up by this imposter too.

Headcannon: Benry's AI has always been aware and able to break the game becomming hella bored as no one seemed to get his humor.... Then Gordon chuckled at his whole passport thing. Half of the insane shit Benrey does it just to get Gordon to laugh (and it works)..... And even became the bad guy because he thought that's what Gordon wanted....

@Darogan Heart my take on the series is that benrey just is chilling, maybe being a bit antagonizing and Gordon is just quite rude to him, sure toward the end he betrayed Gordon, but so did Bubby and Bubby only felt remorse when he got stuck back in his tube. Then at the very end benrey wasn't tryna be mean, and gordom just went to straight up shooting him. Honestly whole series Benreys just vibin and gordon can't handle that. And yeah you could say Benrey killed people so thats why he's a character who is pure evil, but bubby and dr. Coomer also killed alot of innocent people. So if the only true good characters are darnold and Tommy.

Love when Benrey is portrayed as the "idk what I'm doing here, but I'm sure having fun" kind of thing, fits him more than knowing that he has to be an eldritch demon(since that's actually what it was like for him, Scorpy had never played HL1 so for him, it was all strange and weird so he was amazed at just about everything)
