(VIDEO) Kano PDP Urges Saraki's Intervention to Stop Kwankwaso's Defection

The People's Democratic Party, PDP, in Kano State is fighting hard to keep one of its pillars, former Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso.
The PDP Chairman in the State, Shehu Sagagi, urged the party’s leadership to enlist the support of former Senate President, Bukola Saraki to persuade Kwankwaso not to defect from the party.
According to him, his exit from the PDP will spell doom for the party, due to his strong political structure in the state.

Why should Kwankwaso threatening to decamp? Which party is he going to join? Is he going back to APC? Is it because he's not being given presidential ticket of PDP? If he goes back to APC, he will be forced to bow down to the wishes of his estranged Governor Ganduje. If Kwankwaso joins a new political party, his forces can't go beyond Kano State. It is better he remains where he can stay and fight. We all know that Nigerian politicians are after their personal selfish positions, band when they can't get that position, they DECAMP.

He has never been a dependable PDP member, same with anyone who threaten with decamping on every little excuse. The fact is that there's little deference between buhari and kwankwaso. These are individuals who thinks that they are larger than life, but in the actual reality, they are only popular in there local enclave. PDP should let whoever wants to go, leave. Instead, make efforts to bring in quality personel. The likes of Dr Oby Ezekwesili, Prof Charles Soludo, Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iwuala, Prof Chidi Odinkanu Mr Adegboruwa (SAN) etc

This man is not a team player, it is better PDP let him go and count their loss once. He will leave the party when there is election and come back to enjoy opposition-ship. Is it not better he throws his weight on another PDP candidate if he didn't get the ticket rather than trying to get it all

@K. What I do not understand is actually what he wants he is not getting in PDP? These are all their strategies just to scuttle the chance of any Igbo man becoming a president. Many parties have said it clearly that it’s right to allow an Igbo extraction to be president. But some people are fighting against it at all costs, look at some one like Tinubu who’s brother is currently the Vice President.

It baffles me that those who orchestrated Jonathan’s ouster because he’s running for president against the spirit of fairness and equity are the ones insisting that zoning doesn’t exist in Nigeria political system. To them, zoning only exist when it matters to them. Again, this is not limited to the electoral process. Even in other spheres of life, rules are bent to favour mediocrity rather than meritocracy. Kwankwanso is a nice man,the best governor in Kano history ,but he cannot be given the ticket because of his kind heart the only 2 candidates is eaither Tinubu who says he is 69 years 2033 will be 70and atiku who is 76 by 2023 77 are going to be the candidate of both pdp and apc but kwankwanso is the best if he can go to another party and grab the ticket and be aspirant I will still vote for him ever since I was a Child I have the believe kwankwanso will make a better president that’s why they don’t want to allow him to rule
