Hello . I can play the notes of the fourth position using only the (third valve) ? if I use only the third valve may have an unpleasant tone? the fourth correct position is universal? using 1and 2.. Thank you .........

+The Ed Oli The third valve can be used as a substitute for 1 and 2, but 1 and 2 is normally the standard fingering. It is usually flatter than 1 and 2, so it would be out of tune by comparison. If you have a 1 and 2 fingered note that is too sharp, some players will use third valve as a substitute. Hope this helps!
