Great how-to on diffusion lighting with demonstration of the effects of different ways to soften light. I love the reminders of what to pay attention to, as well as the quick summary at the end. Good use of specific products while explaining how they apply to the larger concept.

Brilliant video, The fact that you kept repeating "larger light source" was key in my understanding of how light can be softened. Thanks much!

Fantastic, I'm getting video equipment for my work to do interviews and promo material. Being totally out of my depth, this was fantastic. I guess one needs two or more to eradicate shadows and light people well. Thank-you

Great video for beginners like me! One thing that would be helpful (and missing in almost all tutorials) is final snapshots of different methods side by side for comparison. This was really great, but I had to keep scrolling back to the previous effect to see the difference, especially if the effects were very close in appearance. Love the fast paced script with no filler sounds. Granted, I'm new at all this, but a visual review is really helpful if you have time left over. :)

Nice video, can you tell us what brand of light that is? And how many watts is it? I never knew those lights come with soft boxes, i thought they get too hot for those.
@damianpodcast12 жыл бұрын
@StrangeCreations There are a lot of creative ways to solve the lighting problems with low cost solutions.Just remember heat over longer periods of time. Look in other places that deal with heat (kitchen supply areas, craft stores where heat guns are used, hardware stores...).

Hi Izzy - can you buy softboxes that will fit any light? I have a Cinelight junior fresnel 300w and a Dedo light and I'm trying to find a softbox that will fit either of them but most softboxes seem to be specific to 1 type of light and the specific one for the dedo is very expensive - is there a 'fits all' solution?

Not to answer for him but the video doesn't look daylight. The light in the video looks white because the camera was white balanced for tungsten. daylight bulbs would look cyan with such settings.
