William Foster lost his job a month ago, he is divorced, and the court forbids him to approach his ex-wife and daughter. On his daughter's birthday, he goes to her, despite the judge's orders. On the way, he meets people who, one way or another, hinder the implementation of his plan, which gradually pisses him off. On the same day, Police Sergeant Martin Prendergast is working his last day before retiring. First, William gets stuck in a traffic jam, in which Sergeant Prendergast is also, after which he decides to walk to his family, leaving the car on the road. This is noticed by Sergeant Prendergast. On the way, Foster goes into a small store to change one dollar for a phone call, but the owner of the store, a Korean, insists that he buy something first. Foster decides to buy a can of Coca-Cola and starts a dispute with the seller about an unreasonably high price. The seller tries to use a baseball bat to expel a disgruntled customer, but William forcibly takes away the bat and arranges a pogrom. As a result, Foster leaves, paying the price he considers fair. The owner of the store goes to the police. There he tells about Foster to Sergeant Prendergast, who is investigating robberies. Martin was very interested in the case where the rioter paid for the purchase. Contrary to the expectation of his colleagues at work of his early retirement, he actively engaged in this business. Meanwhile, William goes deep into the dysfunctional neighborhoods and decides to relax in one sparsely populated place. Here two bandits try to rob him, but William puts them to flight with a baseball bat. He keeps the knife with which he was threatened. To take revenge on him, the bandits gather their accomplices and shoot Foster out of the car window on the move while he makes a call in a phone booth, but without hitting William and shooting random people, they get into an accident. William picks up a gym bag with the bandits' weapons and leaves before the police arrive. Now William is becoming more aggressive and reacts sharply to any attack on his address. As a result, he commits a number of offenses of varying severity. Although the police show little interest in his antics, he soon has to hide with a Nazi dealer. He initially takes Foster for "his", but, having not received approval of his views, unceremoniously detains the "lover of Negroes". William wounds the skinhead with a knife in the shoulder, then shoots him with a pistol. After this incident, Foster's behavior becomes increasingly emotional and dangerous. Finally, William catches up with his daughter on the embankment, who is glad to see dad, and his ex-wife, who is mortally afraid of him. They are found by Sergeant Prendergast and, threatening with a pistol, tells William to surrender. Left alone with the policeman, Foster declares that he is armed, although he has lost his gun. We need to ban the purchase & sale of fully automatic & semi automatic transmission assault cars (anything super heavy weight or super high power or both = Assault Car). Only manual transmission with clutch cars allowed. Mandatory restrictor plates on enigine to limit power. Mandatory speed limiters. Mandatory driving aids such as Traction control, ABS, stability control, crash prevention. Only featureless assault cars allowed. Otherwise it will cost a $200 tax stamp + extra background check + waiting period to be allowed a feature such as removing traction control or removing the engine restrictor plate. Driving cars is a PRIVELIGE, not a right. So we should be able to implement these common sense car control laws easily considering it is not a right like guns are - and we already have these laws for guns. So why not implement them for cars? Especially when these common sense car control laws could prevent mass rammings with fully automatic & semi automatic assault cars. These laws could save lives. His lawyer is using it as leverage, in the hope that in order to avoid trial the state will give a lesser sentence. Its a shot at a plea. Completely empty gesture though, given the evidence.
