Hi Peter. Triumph were the first manufacturer to supply door skins (by the request of the insurance companies ) We were Triumph main dealers and a representive came to see me fit the first skin. You can understand that rust was not an issue . It was purely for accident damage purposes . However , the salesmen soon realised they could buy cheap , get us to fit skins in our lunchtime , and likewise the painters and make a nice earner. I never used those crimping tools. I just peaned them over with a hammer and dolly . I became very good at this and l could complete a skin from the car rolling in to going back out in less than an hour . And you're spot on with hanging the door before welding ! Thanks Peter.

It must’ve been great doing those doors with original door skins and no rust to deal with.

I'm afraid not for me if I did that, I wouldn't go back to work that day.

Beautiful work as always! BTW, the door twisting is how how it's done on the assembly line in a car factory.
