Video of Ashland, VA On a Sunday Afternoon

This is the beautiful quaint Town of Ashland, Virginia on a quite Sunday afternoon. I walked the area so that you may see that this is definitely a great town to raise children. With a real old fashioned toy store right on Railroad Avenue. There are great places to eat like Homemade's by Suzanne, The Iron Horse, and the Trackside Grill. There are also antique shops, a wine and cheese store, and a book store in town. We are so excited about Ashland, that we are relocating our insurance practice here. Of course, there is the old railroad station in the center of town which is now the Visitor's Center. Ashland is fondly known as "The Center of the Universe."

Wow, amazing, where are the people? I visited Ashland in 2011 when we drove from DC to San Francisco. Ashland was en route. We ate at the Iron Horse and stayed at the Henry Clay Inn. Lovely!

It's been over 40 years since I was there visiting friends. My last drive-through visit was in 2016 on the Auto Train!☺ Your tour answered a lot of, "I wonder what's down that street", questions I have when watching the RailCam. Thanks for the video.

I'm in Baltimore and have to get down there soon. I sometimes have the live Railcam up on a small window on my computer while doing other things and stop everything when a train arrives.

I watch the Ashland cam every day. I have family in Charlottesville VA, but never been to Ashland. pretty town. I see a lady riding a bicycle every day. She always wears a flowered shirt & a blue ruffled short short skirt. She pays no attention to the traffic laws & just rides in circles. Is she the town gossip. Thanks

I hate to tell you, but the person riding the bicycle is actually a man. He is a nice guy but likes to dress like a woman. I don't think the town gossips about him as he has been doing this for years.
