I met Bob Dancer a few times. Took his class decades ago. He was pretty lucky back in the day. I used to go to the South Point but it got horribly crowded. The last time I played there was New Year's Eve. While I was standing at the bar waiting for a bottle of water, I put $5 in the machine and got 4 aces w/kicker. LOL

Nice overview of the games at South Point. I heartily agree that South Point offers great value in many areas of the property including video poker varieties along with full pay games at 25¢, 50¢, & $1 level. South Point is large, it is clean, warm, and inviting. Among casinos, it is one of the best in its niche.👍🏻🍎

We use to get comped at Caesars palace…..bad slots. Went to South Point and loved the slot play. South Point is a happening place. Don’t see many unhappy faces among players. Food prices at High end casinos are not affordable. I love everything at South Point. Free parking too.

I spotted Bob Dancer many years ago at Ellis Island (I stopped by to see Pete the pit boss) on the graveyard shift. Bob was playing a card of the day promotion. I had the steak and eggs special many times at the Coronado Cafe using my birthday points combined with 1/2 point dinning promo, very good deal. I was present for South Coast's grand opening, a very memorable fire works display. BTW SP used to offer 9/6/90 JoB along the wall near the player's club. Wynn also offered this game as well. These games are history.

great video. have watched them all. i like the matter-of-fact calmness to it all. South Point is great . Owned by Vegas legend Michael Gaughan .Used to own Barbary Coast . Dice tables are only 2x but VP has steady 99+% machines. Great 24/7 sports book run by old school guys. chicago dogs $1.25 cart. still has old school coffee shop/cafe - killer chinese food ( by same cook who ran the kitchen at Barbary Coast's Victorian Room). beers are a few bucks, you're not screwed . Rooms are fine. Has everything you need all the time and no pretension. no throbbing nightclub. 7 miles from Strip is feature not bug. I can't use a players card there for business reasons, but everything is reasonable so I'm good with that.

so I know you live in utah but if you ever play in Mesquite the other owner of this casinos son owns I think Casa Blanca cause when ever we (south point) remodel all our old stuff goes there. hope you enjoyed that place...it is VP heaven there.

Bob hangs out at a few small casino bars. He plays late. I met him like over 30 years ago at Golden Nugget. I bought his video poker 6.0 and now use VP for winners 🏆. I've talked to him a few times since and on our Facebook he is a friendly but still somewhat quiet guy. He writes for the LV advisor you can read his report's and stories there and he has a few good books out too.

Had to watch it twice, I liked it so much. 😎 South Point is my go to for v.p. I visit from So Cal about once a month. They don't really sent out offers to me though. I get a general 2 free night offer every 3 months for each month. I usually contact a host to book with no problems 3 nights so I can check in early. 6:00 a.m. and stay 2 nights. Always put from 5-10k coin in per day at quarter level. I think there main target is locals.

South point is one of the few casinos in Vegas with 9/7 TDB 99.58% .... we booked a room in March but it closed due to Covid .... when things get better we will book a room at South point again

You don't go to station casinos? For example, the Red Rock has about 10-20 100%+ VP machines. The $1 denom only has DW and DDB games (no loose deuces at the $1 level, dammit!). Nice to hit quad deuces on that game for $2500!

Great to see you playing at the SOUTH POINT. I just hit a royal there today on quarters. It's weird how the higher limits pay scale is not as good. Why do you think that is?

Because they give out too much. If a few people can manage a tiny edge on quarters that won’t bust the bank so rather than have bad optics of increased dollars to points they just keep it simple and make it nearly impossible to have an edge on any denomination that matters

My favorite poker machines at South Point is the ones near the sports betting area, the best one in house is 9-4-4 Bonus Deuces Wild with payback percentage of 99.45% with a 32.58 variance.

Next time you are in Vegas you should try video poker at The Orleans. That’s where me and my wife Stay every time and my wife usually crushes there. Always seeing lots of hand pays when I’m there. Good luck as always!
