Buzzsaws camera is not pegged in correctly on the side that is slanted downwards, on the left side. I managed to fix mine by sticking a sturdy toothpick on the downward left side and forced the camera up until I felt a click indicating that the camera is back into place!

That's not true at all. Bob Budiansky in his original treatment named Frenzy (blue) and Rumble (Red). Pre Transformers in the Microchange line the mold was known as Micross. Sunbow screwed up and got the names mixed up, that is all.

Buzzsaw was in four episodes. City of Steel, Atlantis Arise!, The Insecticon Syndrome and Auto Berserk. Wiki stats that the reason that his appearances were limited is because he came packaged with Soundwave, so he didn't need to be advertised as much.

Actually, Frenzy and Rumble was translated from the same Japanese name. I do have a book that has the translations from the original Japanese cartoon to English. Basically, Rumble and Frenzy is the same character. Confusing.

I had the same problem with the Buzzsaw camera. I was able to get mine snapped into the proper alignment using a little more force than I would normally have been comfortable with. Try a little extra force and a twist and it should pop right into place. I might have even used some needle-nose pliers.

He was in the cartoon, like I said: "City Of Steel" and "Atlantis, Arise" were 2 episodes that I know for sure, he was in few others and I even think that in few scenes Megatron ordered Soundwave to dispatch Laserbeak and Buzzsaw so its not a coloring mistake which was present in this show a lot.

It's odd. The horror stories I've heard with the Hasbro version is that the spy camera on Laserbeak simply WOULD NOT OPEN, whereas Buzzsaw's opened up just fine. That's how I managed to tell the two apart with the Year of the Goat version of the set; the one with the brighter gold paint is Laserbeak (spy cam won't work), the one with the pale, kinda silvery paint is Buzzsaw (spy cam works, but doesn't come up much).

I’ll explain. In the G1 toy line, Rumble was the red one and Frenzy was the blue one However, in the accompanying cartoon, some unknown miscommunication caused Rumble to be blue and Frenzy to be red. When the cartoon was given a Japanese dub for Japan, the names were switched around so that the two Decepticons were more toy accurate

Buzzsaw and Laserbeak strafed Bumblebee and Spike on the roof of the Constructicons' skyscraper in New York City. Buzzsaw was also recruited when the Decepticons teamed up with the Sub-Atlanticans to conquer Washington, D.C., but the Dinobots arrived and shot him . Soundwave unleashed Buzzsaw and Laserbeak at Jazz and Inferno when the Decepticons teamed up with the Insecticons to take the Nova Power Plant , but both were blasted out of the sky. These are buzzsaws cartoon appearences :)

Another great Masterpiece review. I agree with you, i prefer to call the blue one rumble and the red Frenzy , like in the G1 cartoon. And why didn't they make a ratbat? I get it because its cheaper to do a repaint than a new mold, but still. A rat bat would complete the set.

that was their plan, ppl say that because buzzsaw was included with the toy was the biggest reason why Laserbeak was more often shown in the show. That way you "had" to spend extra bit of cash for the birdie that you wanted in the first place :)

Yeah, Buzzsaw wasn't used too much in the G1 cartoon. He only made brief appearances in 3 or 4 episodes. That's why as a kid I was kind of disappointed that Soundwave came with Buzzsaw instead of Laserbeak.

Buzzsaw wasn't in the cartoons because it came with the US Soundwave, thus not needing to be advertised :) He was, however in the Marvel comics.

honestly, i like soundwave with yellow eyes more than having red eyes. i also find it wired that this time takara has more of cartoon look and hasbro might give soundwave a more toy look .i think of that because the g1 toy of soundwave had yellow eyes and the cartoon had red eyes. great review as always

My only tie to Buzzsaw was from his being included with the Soundwave toy. I was always pissed that it wasn't Lazerbeak. Why wouldn't they include the toy that was featured in almost every TF episode? Why pick the one that was never shown?

Hi Paul, I have had similar qc issues on my buzzaw as well. Biggest one I am having is when transforming the jet pack the back fin is so tight that I cant starighten without fear of breaking it. Any suggestions on how to loosen up this joint. I have laszer beak with no prob;s. many thanks from australia

if you want to find buzzsaw in the cartoon check out season 2 city of steel. they have it on netflix. also for some strange reason at my toysrus i found the masterpiece soundwave today 2 or 3 weeks before its supposed to come out! supposedly the date has changed again. i will review it on the 27th due to camp. its worth the money. and buzzsaw looks better than before. idk how i found it, it was the only one and was in the back of the store. thanks for reviewing soundwave and the others! good job

You're quite right: the quality of Laserbeak is much better compared to Buzzsaw. This last one seems a hasty repaint. I've seen one that has one of the yellow eyes printed on its beak (!); quite unacceptable considering the price. The Frenzy in this review looks good overall, I've seen 2 of those and both have quality issues with the chrome application en 1 had a kind of 'scar' in his face (just like some of the Soundwave releases). Hopefully Takara takes note of the reviews and improves QC.

Really a bummer about the QC on Buzzsaw. Not cool, especially at $60! Rumble (Frenzy) is cool and although the transformation seems a bit flukey, it still is cool to be able to get the robot mode transformed into a cassette that actually fits into Soundwave. Thx for the review!

You're right. The Pile Drivers are better when the arms are pointed downward. It also makes it very show accurate. Usually when Either Rumble or Frenzy (I still call the blue one Rumble) Activate their pile Drivers, They make a pose that makes it look like they are about to punch the ground. As for Buzzsaw.....I'm very disappointed. I was hoping to have all the cassettes in perfect shape and condition to go with my MP Soundwave....For 60$ that is a MAJOR let down.

my Hasbro Buzzsaw had the same prob with the camera. it wasnt crooked but doesnt come out as easy as laserbeaks did. but only paying 130$ with tax for all 5 tapes and MP sound wave makes it a little easier to accept if i paid 60$ JUST for these two id be PISSED!

nice vid as always. wish they made the lazerbeak separately....especially KO...I wasn't going to get these sets but the KOs are like 13 bucks total or so. again, I bought a couple more KOs after watching vids of course. Definitely can't justify 50 bucks or so for these tapes. I think I did find out that these tapes are the same size as the original G1 tapes (I believe) which is still funny to be. I have some originals so that's why I wasn't interested...but for 13 bucks, ya they will be neat to play with.
