I had hesitation in getting this figure at first, but after I finally get my hands on it, my opinion has actually changed. I'm happy to have both the Takara Tomy and Hasbro versions together in my collection.

I'm glad he has a nice clean sleek mode without all the armor.One reason I didn't get many Beast Hunter figures was because all of them just had ridiculous looking armor.

You guys probably already know, but this is Wave 3 Deluxe Classes: Ratchet, Dreadwing, and Skystalker. Wave 2 Voyager Class figures only has one new figure: Shockwave. And Wave 3 Voyager Class figures is gonna have Grimwing and Ultra Magnus. CAN'T WAIT FOR 'EM!

As far as the head coloration, maybe it changes in the third season. Since he does have the ability to appear as both his original form and a beast hunters form, perhaps he is actually a beast hunter in the upcoming season and not some one off form like I'm hoping dinobot ratchet is.

I know that G1 Smokescreen's thing was that his smoke cloud clung to or covered whatever it enveloped. I think they referred to it back then as "magnetized smoke", or something like that. Didn't make sense back then either. :P

Smokescreen saves Optimus' life, retrieves the Forge of Solus Prime to have Optimus repair himself. Prime refuses and tells him that the reason he was sent to retrieve it to repair the Omega Lock. So. Optimus dies and passes the mantal of leadership to Smokescreen at the end of episode three of the third season.

smokescreen's net is used to capture or covering the beast's mouth ,try locking the net and putting it over ripclaw or lazer back mouth in there beast form

Instead,Optimus Prime had a vision of some sort.This vision was about Optimus joining with the Allspark thus unleashing all the Matrix's power and Smokescreen puts the forge into Optimus's hand allowing him to repair himself and fusing with the Allspark to increase power

magnetic smoke cancels out radar and other opticle aids needed to find him in the smoke screen unlike normal smoke screen where you can use infer red to see him plane as day

Honestly, this is the first non-Predacon Beast Hunters figure that I don't find absolutely HIDEOUS. Shockwave seems like he will look very nice, as well.

I have smokescreen in the Takara version but it's the one from transformers go (which is like the beast hunters for Japan.) and it's the repaint version of that. I highly recommend you to get it.

actually, your exposure near the camera is perfect, but indeed, the background does go "hot" now and then. perhaps a layer of diffusion over the lights, or move the lights more to the side. the best light comes from large, close, diffused light. indirect light is even better ( I'm a professional photographer, since you asked the last guy) your reviews are great, and i love how you give a balance of good and bad. I don't see why people get upset. thats what a review is!

I know the video is old, but I just got Prowl and that transformation is messy. Like there's just a seam running from the top of the car to the hood of the car just to get stuff to stay tabbed in.

If you tab the net together, I bet that is the capture net form, and untabbed is the axe mode. That would make sense. Quick look at TFWiki shows the armor actually folds back at the top, so you don't have that arch above his head. Weird gimmick, wonder how it will play into the show?
