What a crazy 24 year comeback for the city of Detroit. Has to be satisfying for the men and women workers to look up at that and say "I did that" for the rest of their lives..

Why is there a tree on it?

"The practice of "topping out" a new building can be traced to the ancient Scandinavian religious rite of placing a tree atop a new building to appease the tree-dwelling spirits displaced in its construction."

Thanks for the explanation…. I’ve seen that being done FOR DECADES and knew it was customary ( for a reason but I never knew the full story )

Financing and cost caused the downsizing

I wanted 912 too plus the Original design. Gilbert's worth 32 billion. How was financing a problem??
@stickshiftdriver18323 ай бұрын
@@Sterling-gc6rc cost of everything went up due to inflation. Plus manpower was probably limited due to the pandemic and finding so many Detroiters whom are qualified to meet quotas
