Video posted on Telegram by Anton Gerashchenko, adviser to Ukraine's minister of internal affairs, appears to show Russian infantry fleeing a Ukrainian counterattack near Bakhmut. The video was purportedly filmed on May 11, though CNN cannot independently verify the date.

I believe that soldiers, regardless of which side they fight for, should not be subject to ridicule or be labeled as cowards simply because they do not want to risk their lives. In most cases, they did not choose to be in that position and it is unfair to blame them.

You are completely correct. Regardless of which side they fight for, they are just following orders. And I am not just talking out of my head. My father served in the Bolivian Armed Forces for 33 years of his life. He was wounded in two different occasions, while trying to maintain peace and safety for people in the city, and still, those people same wouldn’t stop calling them, “criminals, labeling as the worst,” all because they were call by the government since the police couldn’t control the civil unrest that was happening at that time. Politics in Bolivia are and always have been the worst. During the worst of the COVID19 pandemic, the former President in Bolivia, Evo Morales, who kept on saying that it was a fraud what they did to him to get him out of power, he was so desperate to comeback to power, he was paying with the money that he stole from Bolivia when he left, he was paying his followers to stop trucks delivering food, gas, medication from getting to the city of La Paz, that’s where the government’s offices are located. Doctors and nurses, vaccines were so desperately needed for those that have been infected with the virus; tanks of oxygen were massively needed but Morales didn’t care and would have his follower’s blocked roads. My nephew who was in the armed forces, seeing how desperate the situation was, people dying because of no medical assistance; no oxygen, no medications, he was told by his superiors to take army transportation and troops to report where gas tanks were Keon to bring them to the city and so they did. While this was going on, a large group of crazy followers of former President were trying to get to a place to blow up massive gas containers, other troops trying to stop that madness were dealing with them while my nephew and his troops were getting oxygen tanks and gas containers in the trucks and were safely being delivered to the city. In the meantime, the other group of officers and troops were involved in trying to stop those morale’s followers from carrying it out morales’ orders, which would have caused a terrible mass of deaths! Wouldn’t you believe that even after everything that morales and his political party did, they are back in power and they have been thirstily hungry for getting anyone and everyone that was involved in what happened during those months full of turmoil in jail. My nephew was incarcerated and kept in jail for, I believe six months or more, and has been since then, in house arrest even though he has shown proofs that he was not involved on the deaths of a few of those crazy fanatics that their sole job was to follow orders of morales, to go blow up those gas tanks. And like my nephew, there are many others who are so unfairly, still detained in jail.
