Police will release some facts about the subject, but not any identifying details. Saying the dude was 65 and had an active warrant doesn't give away anything about the suspect. Not only do they have to let the family know, but they also want to be able to get ahead of the investigation and figure out why this happened, maybe he wasn't supposed to have a gun, maybe he borrowed it, maybe he borrowed a car, maybe someone was aware of what he had planned and helped him. There is a reason they don't let John Q Public know too fast.

There was probably a lot more going on in that Suburban than just a guy with a 3000 dollar misdemeanor warrant driving. He had a gun at the very least, and if he was a felon that would be a new felony charge, plus he may have had illicit substances or other illegal items in there with him, all of which would have been found when the vehicle was searched after he was arrested for the warrant. We'll know more soon I suspect.

It's appalling how quickly people rush to judgment, assuming the person pulled over is always in the wrong. What if, in reality, the 65-year-old man was fighting for his life because the cop was abusing their authority? We can't blindly trust a government that has repeatedly demonstrated its dishonesty. The harsh truth is that many cops have become tyrannical, treating the general public with contempt and disrespect. It's time to scrutinize their actions and demand accountability. But instead, the police hunted him down, surrounded him, and brutally murdered him. Now, we'll never hear his side of the story, and the truth will forever be silenced

There's a reason he hasn't been identified despite knowing his age and about his warrant. They don't want him watching TV and hearing his name and cause him to go deeper into hiding. Although, it's a bit silly for them to go into the detail that he has a $3,000 warrant for his arrest along with announcing his age because how many 65 year olds have a 3,000 warrant for their arrest in that area. Basically what you're not being (correctly) told is that they have his identity it's just that they are not releasing it to the public so they always say the suspect has not been identified.

According to a "secret confidential informant," the 65 year old shooter had terminal cancer and was on his last leg. He had claimed being set up by the PD on the outstanding warrant charges. It is plausible that the shooter was penniless and felt he had nothing to lose. His end game netted a final transport & disposal on tax dollars.

My heart goes out to this community and to those Deputies. I grew up in the area of one of the largest Sheriff's Offices in the nation, they have lost many good Deputies over the years and the Sheriffs gave statements with little emotion, because they are so far removed from the day to day job on the streets and the men and women who work them every day and night. To see a Sheriff struggling (and failing) to hold back tears and trying to keep himself from totally breaking down during the press conferencethis is just a good community and a good agency full of good people up to the top. May you rest in peace Deputy Bolter. We will take it from here.
