Thank you for sharing your set up for caring, housing...for the elderly. I just recalled that they have foster type..... homes for them, as I had been a CNA and later, did "Home Care" a very long time ago. I was wondering if you have or can do an updated version of this video, now that time has passed and hopefully , you got up and running? That would be much appreciated! I'm sure this will be in very high demand, if it isn't already. Thank you again!

Hi there! Yes, the rooms are small compared to peoples lives when they are younger, they have more wants and needs...As we age and become less able, often times, we don't want to or cannot take care of everything ourselves and would gladly share those basic responsibilities needed for daily living.Please feel free to visit a local nursing home and it's residents, as MANY do not have family....living nearby and would ABSOLUTELY love company for any amount of time, even 15 minutes a week, live a their spirits tremendously! I've been a cna in various settings including homecare and even Hospice and spent plenty of my own time, in a less professional attire, just visiting with them while they were hospitalized or in their own homes and had some of the best conversations anyone could ask for. They've much to say, if you but simply say "Hello, can I sit with you a minute?" and begin asking them about themselves, the weather..anything. I've met all kinds, from doctors to madame and had great times learning about what life was like for them , back when. I hope that you do try, as it is greatly needed and wanted by staff who almost always, wish they had more time with a good majority of patients or clients.

So a sleeping elderly will be disturbed by the door alarm when another one opens the door? I thought these places had an alarm that signaled the caretaker only so as not to disturb.

Sosua Events I would imagine if someone was asleep in the room, the individual exiting would utilize a different door for the backyard

Often I'd see people care about one another in those settings and with many more people in them and actually do care and do worry about eachother and do want to know if someone goes outside, especially with conditions like Alzheimer's and would even offer to help, anyway they can, if even to keep an eye on them while their outside. Larger facilities means a greater variety of needs people have, which equals to larger staff to care for all the needs and it all would offer more interuptions, noises, meal prep, laundry...I see how this can be done very well, much more intimate and offer a great deal more privacy if requested , wanted and needed. I did the work straight out of high school, in all the typical settings and in one particular place( that was truley God aweful) worked for free in the early mornings and early evenings because the transportation issues that I was having and constant short of staff, eventually they started paying me for those stray hours, as they saw that I stayed busy doing much needed work. I highly recommend people to visit care homes and spend some time listening to the great stories that so many have because so many are so lonely....

I counted 91 times she clearly said, "Um" but that number does not include saying, "Uh" or "Ah". It was very noticeable to me but most folks wouldn't because we are used to people trying to think of what to say and buying themselves time until they can think of the right words.

Beautiful home but her language/delivery was horrible. I counted 60 ummm's so I couldn't focus on the tour.
