I am going to make a Dear Jane quilt by hand. I want the directions for each block starting from A1 and on. The music was not a problem and I could follow the directions without a problem either. it just went a bit fast but you could back up. Just one question, did Jane paper piece on a machine?

+Sharon Ott I've only made about 2 rows and a few triangles so far. Most of them I've paper pieced on a machine. I find the blocks too hard to make in any other way. I've never done hand piecing.

I have trouble with paper piecing - I just don't get it and always backwards - lol! I haven't made any blocks yet. maybe I will try to paper piece - you make it look easy. But so does Carol Doak - took her class, bought the book and the paper - Backwards! I will keep you posted.

+Sharon Ott I started with paper piecing slowly, with easy designs until I got it. Once you've done a few blocks you realise it's quite straightforward. With paper piecing your can do the most complex blocks without a lot of sewing experience. Good luck with it 😊

Too much reading and that distracting music that I can't understand the intructions! Why can't you just speak in the video slowly and without that distracting annoying music!! That is why I prefer to watch Missouri Star quilt Company Jenny teach a video tutorial better!

+gladtidings4all Really? "Glad Tidings For All"? I'm wondering why that's your user name . . . Have you any idea the time, cost, and effort it takes to even produce a short YT video? MSQC is a profit-making company that yes, gives free videos, but they also get a lot of business in their stores and online site as a result of all the fabric and sewing/quilting tools they sell; that means they have more money for their production costs. Jenny is entertaining, (if that's what's most important to you), but she also has a few shortcomings like the rest of us. I too watch MSQC videos, but know that Jenny is not the last word on quilting instructions. Teresa Downunder has 5,805 subscribers (I'm one of them) because that many people want to view more of her videos. I'm guessing most of her subscribers are like me; they already have the basics down and want some efficient instructions or ideas for additional blocks to use in their quilts. I happen to like the music Teresas uses and think it's cheery to listen to and appropriate for what she presents. You probably enjoy MSQC's "duck music"; I don't. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
